We currently have a vacancy for a System Integration & Workflow Engineer (AI) fluent in English. The role will be based in Ispra, Italy, and can be performed either on site at client premises or at the company's premises.The successful candidate will be integrated in the Development team and will closely cooperate with a major client's IT team on site.ResponsibilitiesDesign and development of multi-tier Python-based agentic workflows and web applications.Build a REST API with FastAPI to expose the agent's functionality.Design, plan, implement integration strategies and patterns in a JEE/HTTP secured ecosystem.Apply best practices of distributed architecture to solve complex integration problems between information systems.Design, implement and document APIs to be exposed in a secured manner on a public facing API Gateway.Design, implement and document business events to be easily produced on a corporate event‐streaming platform.Design, plan, implement and deploy workflows: business process definition and task definition (service or user tasks) relying on APIs and business events.Work in a container based infrastructure.QualificationsUniversity degree in IT or relevant discipline, combined with minimum 11 years of relevant working experience in IT.Experience with design and development of multi-tier Python-based agentic workflows and web applications.Experience with development of agents, either using frameworks (openai-agents, google adk, haystack, etc) or by writing custom code.Experience with development of MCP servers.Experience with cloud computing and DevOps (preferably with GitLab, Openshift and Helm).Knowledge of development of REST APIs (preferably in fast‐api).Knowledge of RAG workflows (langchain/flowise/...) and vector databases (Qdrant/Elasticsearch/etc.).Experience data modelling and physical database design will be an advantage.Knowledge of additional programming languages, in particular TypeScript/JavaScript will be an advantage.Excellent command of the English language.We offer a competitive remuneration (either on contract basis or a remuneration with full benefits package) based on qualifications and experience.
