Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Vehicle System Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks in the Engineering Department. The position is based in Naples or Pistoia - IT.

Accountabilities
* Define Electrical high, medium and low voltage Train architecture
* Define Train Control and Monitoring Architecture
* Define Train Performance with the support of simulation tools
* Develop Vehicle Functional Requirements
* Define Systems onboard interfaces
* Prepare Vehicle Test Specifications
* Support performance and functional tests of the vehicle
Required Skills/Knowledge
* Knowledge of basic RAMS disciplines is an advantage.
* Knowledge of main regulations related to onboard systems in the railway sector
* Ability to interpret electrical, pneumatic, system, software, and mechanical drawings
* Knowledge of electrotechnical, electronic, and system engineering principles
* Knowledge of main communication protocols and network architectures
* Preferred knowledge of railway norms and standards
* Preferred knowledge of electrical/mechanical design software (AutoCAD, Creo, Catia, etc.)
* Proficiency with office automation tools (Word, Excel, etc.)
* Knowledge of requirements management processes and tools (IBM DOORS)
* Ability to work effectively at all organizational levels, contributing constructively
* Willingness to work in a collaborative, fast-paced, international environment
* Ability to work autonomously within teams and projects
* Availability for short-term national and international travel

Education/Qualifications
Degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Vehicle Transportation Engineering or equivalent
Languages
Proficiency in written and spoken English, at least at C1 level
