Project Engineer
Job Purpose:
To oversee the engineering, planning, and execution of subsea cable installation projects for offshore wind farms, interconnectors, and marine energy systems, ensuring technical compliance, cost efficiency, and on-time delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the engineering and technical coordination of marine cable installation projects from design through to commissioning.
Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with client requirements and industry standards (e.G., DNV, ICPC).
Supervise offshore installation activities, including cable laying, burial, splicing, and testing, while ensuring HSE compliance.
Liaise with clients, contractors, and vessel crews to resolve technical challenges and optimize installation methodologies.
Review and approve technical documentation, including cable route surveys, installation procedures, and risk assessments.
Monitor project progress, report on KPIs, and implement corrective actions to mitigate delays or cost overruns.
Requirements:
Degree in Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Marine, or related field).
Proven experience in subsea cable projects, preferably in offshore wind or interconnectors.
Strong knowledge of cable installation techniques, vessels, and equipment (e.G., ploughs, ROVs, tensioners).
Familiarity with industry standards (e.G., CIGRE, FIDIC contracts) and marine regulations.
Excellent project management skills, with the ability to work under pressure in offshore/remote environments.
