Job Description:
As the Field Service Engineer in Power and Water Solutions BU, your role will be to support our customers at site (mainly power plants) by delivering activities required for maintenance, solving incidents, providing technical support, system upgrades, warranty services, training, configuration, modifications, on-call services to our DCS and Power and Water Cybersecurity Suite. You will be part of our Lifecycle Services team, which helps customers maintain, improve reliability, and boost performance of their DCS systems. We look forward to your application!
Responsibilities include:
* Perform system maintenance and performance evaluations.
* Provide technical support, investigate and resolve system-related customer complaints and problems.
* Offer remote technical support for our DCS system users.
* Perform on-call and emergency services if applicable.
* Use service tools (SMS, Guardian, etc.) and internal tools (CRM, INAZ, Clarity, Service App).
* Support configuration, application management, and project activities at customer sites.
* Provide on-site training on Emerson products.
* Stay updated on technology developments, focusing on areas like Ovation DCS, Power and Water Cybersecurity, Virtualization, Upgrades, Backup & Recovery, Security, etc.
Candidate profile:
You demonstrate initiative in tough situations, identify opportunities, and pursue goals with energy and determination. You are knowledgeable about business systems and process industries, comfortable with ambiguity, proactive, and committed to self-development.
Requirements:
* Degree or equivalent in engineering (mechanical, electrical, computer science, control systems preferred).
* Knowledge of IT, Networking, Cybersecurity, Virtualization, Programming, Operating Systems, Active Directory, Patch Management, Backup & Recovery.
* Experience in process industries like Power, Water, Biotech, Chemical, Oil & Gas, Refineries.
* Fluent in Italian and English, both written and spoken.
Preferred qualifications:
* Experience with DCS applications (Ovation DCS or DeltaV advantageous).
* Start-up and commissioning experience in process automation.
* Knowledge of electrical/electronic systems, power, field buses (Modbus, IEC, Profibus, etc.).
* Willingness to travel extensively and work outside regular hours, including weekends, for customer support and call-outs.
