The Business Unit Head will be responsible and accountable for the strategy planning and implementation of all commercial activities within Italy with success defined by growing our current business through current indications while preparing for further launches to continue to grow our positive impact for patients fighting with cancer. The Business Unit Head will manage a team of Marketing and Sales professionals and lead a cross functional team to drive operational excellence. The Business Unit Head will be a member of Gilead local leadership team. /ph3Responsibilities: /h3ullipLead the Oncology cross-functional team providing vision motivation support and coaching to drive the business and achieve the commercial the overarching Therapeutical area objectives. /p /lilipDrive development and execution of commercial strategy and action plans for the continued growth of our portfolio. /p /lilipLead ensure well-functioning successful marketing sales team connected with its peers across countries and global. /p /lilipDrive Operational Excellence in marketing sales efforts and business/forecast planning. /p /lilipDevelop implement and maintain the required infrastructure to meet business goals. /p /lilipAchieve the best-in-class performance leading the cross- functional team. /p /lilipEstablish effective working relationships with opinion leaders and other key stakeholders be recognised as partner in improving quality of care. /p /lilipPartner successfully with Medical Affairs to ensure effective development and implementation of strategies that can affirm Gilead as a scientific partner to the Italian ecosystem. /p /lilipPartner with Government Affairs and Public Affairs to ensure a positive policy environment that values innovation. /p /lilipSupport Market Access activities for all impending launches and to maximize current portfolio impact. /p /lilipCreate an environment in which every member of the team has an opportunity to succeed regardless of their tenure or standing within the organization. /p /lilipParticipate actively in the LT and contribute to a high performance team to drive business forward and shape a forward looking successful organization. /p /lilipRepresent the leadership team of Gilead internally and externally. /p /lilipRepresent the cross functional vision in global and regional forums. /p /lilipRole model Leadership Essentials and support strong Gilead culture and Core Values. /p /li /ulh3Required Knowledge Experience Skills: /h3pThe successful candidate will be a recognized leader with excellent communication skills. The role requires being comfortable at working in a high-growth environment where influencing and negotiating across an organization are a prerequisite. You will need to demonstrate the ability to manage complexity ambiguity and paradoxes through thinking outside of the box with a collaborative constructive and solution-oriented approach. /pullipUndergraduate degree is required MBA and/or post graduate preferred or advanced life science degree (MD Pharm D PhD). /p /lilipDemonstrable commercial leadership experience in the biopharmaceutical industry such as a highly successful Business Unit Lead and a strong sales marketing leader within the specialty therapeutics area. /p /lilipShould have recent experience in oncology preferably in solid tumors/ breast cancer and successful track record of Launches. /p /lilipMust be a pragmatic individual who enjoys getting involved in the business at all levels and across all disciplines. Broad-based cross-functional experience is important. /p /lilipMust have a track record of successful P L management with an understanding of revenue forecasting and expense budget planning optimization and tracking. /p /lilipMust demonstrate excellence in project management and effectively managing multiple projects/priorities. /p /lilipMust be good at building new relationships rapidly with KOLs and other stakeholders such as industry associations. An already established Italian network is preferable. /p /lilipMust have the ability to drive a business whilst possessing innate market-making capabilities with natural self-starter hands-on entrepreneurial and innovative attitude. /p /lilipStrong leadership qualities such as having the ability to attract motive and retain talent and drive a culture of collaboration engagement and motivation. /p /lilipPrevious experience in Field Force Re/Organization is preferred. /p /lilipExcellent Knowledge of written and spoken English. /p /lilipAbility to understand and speak in Italian- or the ability to learn in a reasonable timing- is a strong preference. /p /lilipAbility to provide strategic input at a Global level. /p /lilipInternational experience either working in a Global or Regional role or in the context of above country project teams is a strong asset. /p /lilipOpenness to travel domestically and some internationally when safe to do so. /p /li /ulh3Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) /h3pIt is the policy of Gilead Sciences Inc. and its subsidiaries and affiliates (collectively Gilead or the Company) to recruit select and employ the most qualified persons available for positions throughout the Company.
