Food Demand Coordinator - Food Logistics Services IKEA sells millions of products worldwide daily, with each item traveling from supplier to customer. The Category Food Logistics Services plays a vital role in IKEA's supply chain by ensuring that food-related products are shipped, handled, and distributed professionally, securing availability, cost efficiency, quality, and sustainability. We are seeking a Food Demand Coordinator to join our Category Food Logistics Services team in Milan. As a Food Demand Coordinator, you will collaborate with various supply functions to ensure product availability for our customers by managing operational responsibilities for distribution in selected markets. You will join a diverse, experienced team in Milan, supporting IKEA retailers through operational tasks such as range changes, commercial activities, and expansion initiatives. Your responsibilities include: Ensuring operational performance in Supply Chain Operations from end-to-end within your scope and regional team. Reviewing and providing input to supply chain partners to optimize replenishment solutions and logistics, identifying risks and deviations. Supporting Market Operations Forums with high-quality communication and stakeholder management, leading initiatives for operational excellence, and managing distribution in emergency situations. Acting as the primary contact for retail partners regarding supply chain operations. Analyzing data (orders, forecasts, stock, sales) to identify shortages and taking actions to optimize product availability at minimal cost. Coordinating supply operations for expansion projects and new retail setups. Managing product availability, including inventory, shelf-life, range changes, and product launches. Handling documentation and compliance during export/import processes. Developing product labeling at Distribution Centers in coordination with relevant stakeholders. Ideal candidates will have: Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex issues simply and clearly. Strong networking skills and experience in cross-functional collaboration and influencing decisions. Organized, with a focus on delivering high-quality results timely. Experience working with large datasets and analytics models. Proactive, solution-oriented, and business-minded with a sense of urgency. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and preferably experience with ERP systems like Infor M3 (Movex). Flexible, adaptable, and motivated to excel and support business growth. Relevant education in logistics, supply chain, or business administration, or equivalent experience. Preferably, experience in food logistics.
