You will also work closely with Legal, Sales, Supply Chain, and other key stakeholders to safeguard Avio's global operations.Your main responsibilities will include:
Leading the classification of products and technologies, including Country of Origin and export jurisdiction determinationsManaging import/export authorizations under L.185/90, ITAR, EAR, BAFA, and applicable customs regulationsSupporting internal teams in preparing and submitting Government authorization requestsDeveloping, updating, and implementing corporate Trade Compliance policies, procedures, and internal controlsEnsuring consistent application of regulatory requirements across the organizationConducting audits, risk assessments, and investigations related to potential compliance breachesProposing remediation plans and driving continuous improvement initiativesOverseeing and mentoring staff involved in export control and customs processesActing as the company's Authorized/Legal Representative for export authorization purposes, ensuring accuracy and accountability in all declarations
Qualifications:
7+ years of experience in Trade Compliance, Export Control, Customs in an international or highly regulated environmentMaster's degree in Law, Economics, Logistics, International Relations, or a related fieldCertifications: Licensed Customs Broker (LCB), Certified U.S. Export Compliance Officer (CUSECO)
Technical Skills
Deep knowledge of Italian regulations (including L.185/90) and international export control frameworks (ITAR, EAR, BAFA)Strong understanding of customs processes, product classification, and compliance documentationAbility to interpret complex regulatory texts and translate them into actionable operational requirements
Soft Skills
Strong analytical mindset with attention to detailExcellent communication and stakeholder‐management skillsHigh integrity, accountability, and a proactive approach to risk prevention
