Job Description
As a Software R&D Specialist, reporting directly to the R&D Software Manager, you will contribute to the upgrades, development, and new configurations of the software side of our CrossBelt Sorter system (HC LOOP). You will act as a key reference for software evolution, support system implementations, and collaborate closely with the Engineering and Sales divisions to analyze, quote, and deliver special requests for various installations.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop high-level software (PLC Siemens / Rockwell) for FORTNA’s core products (HC LOOP).
* Analyze system specifications and propose solutions for software automation issues, including managing external/internal suppliers and collaborators.
* Read and interpret electrical schematics.
* Configure and manage industrial devices such as PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, remote I/Os, inverters, servo drives, encoders, sensors, etc.
* Organize, manage, and produce documentation related to the software developed for our systems.
* Work closely with other technical departments to analyze plant projects and address any critical aspects.
* Organize, supervise, and, if needed, perform internal validation testing.
* Collaborate on the drafting of technical and commercial documentation.
Requirements
Hard Skills
* Degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
* Advanced knowledge of structured PLC programming languages (Siemens / Rockwell).
* Proficient in Safety PLC programming and Profisafe protocol.
* Solid understanding of industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet and Profinet.
* Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams.
* Good command of English, both spoken and written.
