We are looking for a Plant Supplier Quality Engineer to join the Plant Quality team, reporting directly to the Plant Quality Manager. This position is based at our office in Corbetta.
About The Position
As the Supplier Quality Engineer at Marelli, you will be in charge to:
- Interface between suppliers, incoming control, production, and quality for analysis and problem solving.
- Contribute to company objectives and global quality performance from external suppliers.
- Manage quality claims due to an external supplier after SOP, guarantee defects are definitively solved, and implement lessons learned.
- Support the non‑quality cost recovery process.
Your Responsibilities Will Be
- Ensure implementation of containment actions at supplier site to protect plant and customer.
- Check and challenge root causes, corrective actions efficiency, and standardization; manage problem‑solving cycle time from external suppliers.
- Launch escalation process.
- Lead Controlled Shipping Level/Firewall implementation and monitor results until validation of corrective actions.
- On‑site visits at suppliers to check corrective action efficiency, perform line review or process audit when required.
- Guarantee supplier cost recovery process execution through SQP and SCR tool.
- Follow 8D process and conformity of reports from external suppliers, and share with requester.
- Support internal functions in case of changes in supplier process/component.
- Support IATF or customer audit at plant level.
Education & Former Experience
- Bachelor degree or above in industrial sectors (mechanical, electrical, materials engineering, physics or equivalent), preferable in related business area.
- Experience in technical field and automotive quality.
- Travel required (30-50%), mainly domestic and some international.

- Experience in Process Audit (qualified auditor according to VDA 6.3 preferred).

- Knowledge and practice of quality tools: FMEA, SPC, Process capabilities, Pareto, 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa, control plan, experience capitalization.
- Analysis and synthesis skills, ability to propose solutions and take responsibilities, bear up to pressure, deal with supplier management.
- Knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements, related tools (FMEA, PPAP, SPC) and application.
- Knowledge of environmental and safety requirements.
- Teamwork spirit.
- Able to negotiate and convince, manage meetings.
- Good knowledge of MS office suites.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
