Ph3JOB DESCRIPTION /h3 pBe part of the solution at Technip Energies and embark on a one-of-a-kind journey. You will be helping to develop cutting‑edge solutions to solve real‑world energy problems. /p pWe are currently seeking a Digital Plants Engineer Sr., reporting directly to the Section Head to join our Digital Plants (Engineering Department) team based in Rome, Italy. /p h3About us /h3 pTechnip Energies is a global technology and engineering powerhouse. Through collaboration and excellence in execution, our 17,000+ employees across 34 countries are fully committed to bridging prosperity with sustainability for a world designed to last. /p h3About the opportunity we offer /h3 pYou will work inside the Digital Plants Section, that is in charge mainly of the: /p ul liDetailed design, test and commissioning of simple, complex and advanced regulatory process control strategies, /li liDetailed design, test and commissioning of complex logics and sequences, /li liManagement of the supply and commissioning of Advanced Process Control (Multivariable) and Optimization systems, /li liManagement of the supply and commissioning of Operator Training Simulator (OTS) systems, /li liManagement of the supply and commissioning of Digital Application software (e.g. 3D OTS/Augmented Reality, Digital Twin, IIoT, MES). /li /ul pYou will be involved in different phases of each Project: FEED (Front End Engineering Design), EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) and Revamping Projects. /p h3Responsibilities include but are not limited to /h3 ul liStudy of process operation and process control requirements and definition of suitable simple, complex and advanced regulatory control strategies to be implemented at DCS. /li liDefinition of basic and complex logics/sequences (logic diagrams and flowcharts) to be implemented at DCS/ESD. /li liDefinition of advanced process control strategies based on process operation and optimisation targets. /li liProvide technical assistance during DCS/ESD configuration and testing phases (FAT) of simple, complex and advanced regulatory control strategies as well as logics/sequences at vendor workshops and during site commissioning phase. /li liTimely and qualitative preparation of technical specifications and requisitions for Operator Training and Advanced Process Control systems in coordination with other disciplines. /li liTimely and qualitative preparation of technical specifications and requisitions for Digital application systems in coordination with other disciplines. /li liTechnical evaluation of bids to ensure that contractual technical specifications are met by the suppliers. /li liEnsure proper communication with vendors and clients and technical follow‑up of the orders. /li liEnsure proper communication with Process Department and other engineering disciplines (e.g. Instrumentation and Control, Machinery, Heaters and Boilers, Electrical) for management of interfaces. /li liSupervise and coordinate the activities of a small group of engineers (internal and/or external). /li liReview vendor documents. /li liAdhere to the committed man‑hours and budget. /li liEnsure timely reporting on engineering and requisitioning activities to the Lead Discipline Engineer (if any) and to the Section Head. /li liMeet Quality and HSE objectives of the project. /li liInterface with other discipline specialist engineers and possibly project support functions such as procurement and planning. /li liProvide guidance and mentoring to more junior engineering employees. /li /ul pYou will have the opportunity to do business trips to attend to technical meetings with clients or suppliers, visit vendor workshops, move to other Technip Energies operating centres and join our colleagues overseas. Occasionally you will also have the opportunity to follow up engineering activities related to the Instrumentation and Automation discipline directly on our sites, supporting erection, pre‑commissioning, commissioning and start‑up activities. /p pStarting Date: September 2025 /p h3About you /h3 pTo be successful in this mission you should consider the following requirements: /p ul liPrevious experience of at least 3-6 years in detailed engineering and design for refinery / gas / power / renewables / infrastructure projects in a similar position. /li liChemical or Automation Engineering Degree. /li liKnowledge of process units operation, with at least 2-3 years of experience in process design or similar. /li liKnowledge of general Instrumentation and Automation (DCS/ESD) principles. /li liKnowledge of safety interlocks, various machineries and equipment controls and logics. /li liFluent in English. /li liComputer literate. /li liCapability to perform its work on time with the required quality level. /li liCommunication skills and team spirit. /li liAvailability to international mobility for either short or long term assignment. /li /ul h3Nice to have /h3 ul liKnowledge / experience in Advanced Process Control. /li liKnowledge / experience in Operator Training Simulator. /li liKnowledge / experience in MES (Manufacturing Execution System) applications and Digital Twin. /li liKnowledge / experience in Process modelling and Simulation. /li liKnowledge / experience of DCS basic configuration criteria and vendor proprietary configuration blocks. /li liKnowledge / experience in Automation Systems architecture general principle and Hardware design. /li liKnowledge / experience in Site Operations and/or Automation Systems revamping/upgrades. /li /ul h3Your career with us /h3 pWorking at Technip Energies is an inspiring journey, filled with groundbreaking projects and dynamic collaborations.
