We are now looking for a new Customer Portal Database Developer in Tognana, Italy!
This position is also open in Bologna (Italy), Cluj-Napoca (Romania) and Zagreb (Croatia).
As an Customer Portal Database Developer you will utilize your expertise in PL/SQL, Oracle EBS, Oracle Fusion, and Snowflake to ensure seamless data flows into our Oracle Autonomous Transaction Processing (ATP) environment. Your work will directly support front-end developers, enabling efficient data integrations that drive exceptional user experiences for some of the world’s largest organizations.
As a key member of our Customer Portal team, you’ll thrive in a collaborative, Agile environment, partnering with product owners, QA specialists, and front-end developers to design, implement, and optimize robust data solutions. Beyond PL/SQL, you’ll also expand your skill set through working with Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) and Oracle Visual Builder Studio (VBS), gaining exposure to cutting-edge tools and best practices. What kind of work will you be doing?
* PL/SQL Development
* Architect and develop robust PL/SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions to drive the Customer Portal’s data flows, ensuring high performance and data integrity.
* Seamlessly integrate and process data from multiple sources—including Oracle EBS, Oracle Fusion, and Snowflake—using best practices in query design and code modularity.
* Continuously refine and optimize PL/SQL code to handle large data volumes and evolving business requirements, ensuring the platform remains efficient and responsive.
* Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) (Highly Preferred)
* Collaborate with front-end Visual Builder Cloud Services and Oracle Integration Cloud developers to ensure efficient communication with Oracle Autonomous Transaction Processing (ATP) and Oracle EBS databases.
* Utilize OIC for data synchronization between Oracle EBS, Oracle ATP, and external systems, ensuring efficient, secure integrations.
* Monitor, maintain, and optimize existing OIC integrations to handle high-volume and mission-critical transactions.
* Integrate backend services with Oracle Visual Builder Studio, working closely with front-end developers to ensure seamless data flow and user experience.
* Develop and maintain REST APIs or similar services as needed for VBS-based applications.
* Performance Optimization & Troubleshooting
* Review and refactor existing queries and stored procedures to follow best practices and deliver performance improvements.
* Work with the Business Analyst to investigate data issues and discrepancies, ensuring data integrity across systems.
* Data Insights & Reporting
* Query and analyze data from Oracle EBS, Oracle ATP, and other integrated sources to provide insights and KPI metrics for the Product Owner.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to turn raw data into actionable recommendations that drive product and business decisions.
* Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, contributing to the continuous improvement of Agile processes.
* Work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and QA to clarify requirements, define acceptance criteria, and ensure high-quality deliverables.
* Act as the data scripting expert on the team in developing CI/CD and DevOps solutions
* Code Quality & Testing
* Create and maintain unit tests for PL/SQL code, ensuring robust error handling and data validation.
* Utilize Git to track changes, collaborate, and automate deployments
* Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers, fostering a collaborative and high-quality development culture.
* Technical Leadership & Mentorship
* Assist junior developers by sharing expertise in PL/SQL, Oracle EBS, and integration best practices.
* Lead or contribute to technical design discussions, offering insights on architecture, performance, and scalability.
* Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
* Maintain clear, comprehensive technical documentation for all developed components, including architectural diagrams and SOPs.
* Share knowledge through team wikis, workshops, or lunch-and-learn sessions to continually upskill the broader team.
What will make you successful?
Education & Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience). A Master's degree is a plus.
* 4+ years of hands-on experience in PL/SQL and Oracle EBS development, support, or administration.
Technical Proficiency
Required:
* Thorough understanding of Oracle EBS technical components (e.g., forms, workflows, reports, customizations)
* Strong PL/SQL skills, including performance tuning and troubleshooting
* Experience working with Oracle EBS Service Contracts, Field Service, Install Base, and Customer Care modules.
* Experience working with Snowwflake
Highly Preferred:
* Proficiency with Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC).
* Experience with data in Oracle Fusion Applications
* Familiarity with Oracle Visual Builder Studio (VBS) for backend or full-stack development.
* Familiarity with Oracle Engagement Cloud
Nice to Have:
* Exposure to APEX and Java for additional customization and extension.
* Familiarity with other Oracle technologies or tools
Agile Methodologies & Tools
* Experience working in an Agile environment (Scrum, Kanban) and using tools such as JIRA or Azure DevOps for tracking work items.
* Comfort with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
Data & Reporting
* Demonstrated ability to query and analyze data for insights, reporting, and KPI metrics.
* Familiarity with data analytics concepts and processes (e.g., ETL, data integrity checks).
* Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal), including the ability to discuss technical topics with both technical and non-technical audiences.
* Proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams (BA, QA, front-end, product owners).
Problem-Solving & Accountability
* Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
* Self-starter approach, taking ownership of tasks from design to deployment.
* Interest or experience in leading junior developers, conducting code reviews, and guiding best practices.
* Willingness to champion continuous improvement initiatives and advocate for technical excellence within the team.
Certifications (Nice to Have)
* Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate.
* Any Agile or Scrum certifications (CSM, PSM) demonstrating familiarity with Agile frameworks.
