Ph3Overview Responsibilities /h3 pThe Sub-Regional EHS Manager is responsible for the effective management and execution of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) programs across Service Centers and field service operations of rotating equipment and turbomachinery servicing jobs within the defined sub-region. The role has direct accountability for EHS risk management at designated Service Center locations, acting as the primary EHS authority for those facilities. In addition, the role provides operational EHS support across wider field service and sub-regional activities. Working in close collaboration with Customers, Operations, Site Leadership, and the Regional EHS Manager, the position ensures that EHS risks are identified, assessed, and controlled at the point of execution, enabling safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of all activities. /p h3Specific Job Responsibilities/Competencies /h3 h3Regulatory Compliance Leadership /h3 ul liMaintains full compliance with all applicable environmental, health and safety regulations and corporate standards, in particular, Italian legislation (D.Lgs 81/08). /li liActs as the primary EHS authority and site subject matter expert on legislation, emerging regulatory trends, and industry best practice. /li liLeads regulatory inspections, agency interactions, and statutory reporting by INAIL, ASL, and other regulatory bodies. /li liEnsures all permits, licenses and approvals are maintained and effectively managed. /li liResponsible for leading the company through VCA recertification cycles and serving as the primary point of contact for all external VCA audits. /li /ul h3EHS Management System Governance /h3 ul liProvides EHS leadership and support to field service activities, including pre-job planning and risk assessment, customer site compliance and contractor management and coordination. /li liOwns and continuously improves the site EHS Management System aligned to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. /li liLeads internal and external audits, statutory inspections and assurance programs. /li liTracks, manages and closes corrective actions with senior leadership accountability. /li liEstablishes clear governance structures, risk ownership and performance metrics. /li /ul h3Risk Management Operational Control /h3 ul liOversees risk assessments for all high-risk activities including contractor operations. /li liEnsures robust control of physical, chemical and ergonomic hazards. /li liApproves or challenge operational plans where risk exposure is unacceptable. /li liExercises stop-work authority where necessary. /li /ul h3Incident Investigation Learning /h3 ul liLeads and governs all serious incidents, near misses and high-potential events. /li liEnsures investigations are of high quality, root causes are identified, and lessons are embedded across designated EEE and customer sites. /li liDrives systematic learning and cross-site sharing of critical risks. /li /ul h3Leadership, Culture Workforce Engagement /h3 ul liCoaches and influence site leadership on decisions affecting EHS culture and performance. /li liActs as a visible role model for safe behaviors and professional standards. /li liChampions workforce engagement, speak-up culture, and behavioral safety programs. /li liEmbeds EHS into daily operations, planning processes and performance reviews. /li /ul h3Training Capability Development /h3 ul liOversees site EHS training strategy, curricula and competence frameworks. /li liEvaluates training effectiveness and implement innovative learning methods. /li liEnsures leaders and supervisors are equipped to manage risk effectively. /li /ul h3Performance Continuous Improvement /h3 ul liAnalyzes EHS performance data and trends. /li liLeads improvement initiatives aligned to Group, Regional and Site KPIs. /li liDrives continuous improvement through structured programs and targeted interventions. /li liContributes to longer-term strategic development and regional best practice. /li /ul h3Emergency Crisis Management /h3 ul liActs as the site EHS advisor during emergencies and critical incidents. /li liSupports business continuity planning and crisis response. /li liProvides professional leadership during high-pressure events. /li /ul h3Background And Experience /h3 ul liBachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science and / or Occupational Health Safety or related field. /li liMinimum 5-7 years’ experience in EHS roles with 3+ years experience within heavy engineering, manufacturing, energy, petrochemical, or similar high-risk industrial environments having managed service centers or field service operations. /li liStrong working knowledge of UK and EU regulations and directives, with the ability to interpret and apply these requirements pragmatically within complex operational environments. /li liMandatory comprehensive knowledge of Italian legislative decree 81/08; candidate must be a qualified RSSP. /li liCertified Lead Investigator with significant experience leading complex incident investigations. /li liCertified Lead ISO Auditor with experience in ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 / integrated management systems. /li liVCA Certified must possess a deep understanding of VCA protocols and hold a current certificate. /li liStrong interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to engage across all organizational levels, contractors, and customers /li liProven ability to influence senior leaders, shape site culture, and deliver sustained improvements in EHS performance. /li /ul h3Base Location Work Schedule /h3 pThis is a full time permanent hybrid position based out of our office in La Spezia, Italy. /p /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
