Senior Software Engineer - Cloud, Software team.
AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations—from foundational services such as Amazon S3 and EC2, to new product innovations that differentiate AWS services.
As a member of the UC organization, youll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, IoT, Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS.
This role focuses on shaping the future of cloud computing with state-of-the-art cloud and AI technologies in a fast-paced environment, creating platforms that enable smart automation, AI-driven tools, and AI transformation.
Responsibilities
Architect and deploy AI-powered solutions and AWS cloud services that transform development workflows
Lead technical innovation by driving architectural decisions and GenAI technology adoption
Champion AI transformation across engineering teams through education and hands-on implementation
Partner with elite cloud teams to identify opportunities and deliver innovative solutions
Ensure system excellence through participation in on-call rotations and reliability initiatives
Basic Qualifications
Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience
Expert-level Python programming skills
Strong software engineering fundamentals: design patterns, system architecture, testing, documentation
Cloud experience: developing serverless services, cloud based architecture
Basic knowledge in AI / GenAI concepts and applications: LLMs, embeddings, RAG, prompt engineering and AI agents
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical field
Customer-focused mindset with strong communication skills
Self-driven learner with exceptional ownership mentality
Collaborative team player who thrives in fast-paced environments
Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on experience building GenAI applications - RAG systems, AI agents, chatbots, LLM pipelines
Experience with modern development tools - GitHub Copilot, or similar AI-assisted coding tools
Experience with agentic AI frameworks like LangGraph, AgentCore, CrewAI, or similar
Knowledge of AWS serverless and cloud infrastructure (Lambda, CDK, S3, SQS, etc.)
AWS certifications (Practitioner, Developer, Solutions Architect) – highly valued but not required
Model fine-tuning experience - LoRA, QLoRA, full fine-tuning, RLHF, or instruction tuning
