Italian Tax Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Italian Tax Specialist to oversee and manage the Italian tax affairs for Kimberly-Clark companies. This role involves ensuring VAT compliance, US tax reporting, Italian corporation tax compliance, local taxes, and property taxes. You will be the key contact for relationships with local tax authorities, managing tax audits, and collaborating across departments on direct and indirect tax matters in Italy.
The role includes preparing tax returns and submissions (excluding Employment Tax), working closely with external advisors, and engaging with international tax accounting and reporting (US GaaP).
You will report to the Senior EMEA Tax Manager and serve as an individual contributor.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare statutory tax reports and filings, liaising with financial reporting, management, auditors, and tax authorities.
* Handle VAT and indirect tax queries, providing expertise and advice.
* Implement VAT recovery opportunities and support import/export teams on customs VAT matters.
* Collaborate with financial and international tax teams to produce forecasts and identify future tax issues and opportunities.
* Monitor and communicate updates on Italian tax legislation, and identify planning opportunities.
* Manage tax queries and audits related to Italian direct and indirect taxes, supporting tax accounting requests.
* Support month-end tax close activities, liaising with outsource partners and the financial reporting team.
* Assist the GBS Tax manager and International Tax COE on ad-hoc tax matters, liaising with relevant teams and external consultants.
* Participate in regional tax-related projects within the EMEA region.
* Requirements:
* Proven experience and knowledge of Italian Income Tax (IRES/IRAP), VAT, and Italian tax laws.
* Certified Accountant (Dottore Commercialista / Esperto Contabile) or equivalent experience, with strong knowledge of Italian tax legislation and accounting.
* Ability to interpret and clearly communicate complex tax matters.
* Exposure to US & Italian GAAP tax accounting.
* SAP general ledger experience preferred.
* CCHI experience preferred.
