Vertiv is looking for an Engineering Manager to be part of the Thermal Management mechanical Design team within the RD Department, based in Piove di Sacco (PD) - Italy. He/She supports the development team for chiller and CRAH products in the NPDI process and provides support for the sustaining team. He/She supports the ETO – C design and development working in cooperation with offering and ETO team. /p h3What kind of work will you be doing? /h3 ul liLead the thermal team assigned. /li liSupport and follow the laboratory test in cooperation with the Engineering Team leader. /li liSupport the Sustaining team in component selection and deviation on standard components. /li liIdentify key issues and drive decisions to ensure that the project does not slip. /li liResponsible in the NPDI process for what concern the engineering deliverable (thermodynamic selection and GRS/rating tool, product cost) in cooperation with Engineering Manager. /li liOperational responsibility for the thermodynamic design and numerical calculations of specific projects. /li liEnsure the development of technical documentation and internal and external resources. /li liWork with the marketing department to test new units with/without customers. /li liCoordinate design activities. /li liEnsure compliance with safety and quality standards in its field. /li liDevelop co-workers and subordinates. /li liContribute to the development and adherence to standards, focusing on the key areas of customer, company culture and continuous improvement system. /li liSupport the development of new RD products in the data center cooling sector for high profile and well-known global datacenter customers. /li liSupport a fast and customer focused response on “engineered to order complex” (ETO-C) projects, where a new solution is based on an existing and well proven platform. /li liWork in a multi-disciplinary engineering team on global products focusing on high performance, cost effective design and market leading innovation. /li liApprove and review product documentation (User manuals, rating tool, bills of material). /li liAnalyze and resolve technical problems as regards products under his/her responsibility. /li liAvailability to travel on request between the Italian HQ (base) and a production facility in Slovakia, Croatia and Mexico. /li /ul h3What will make you successful? /h3 ul liA minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Energy Engineering or equivalent science based subject is required. /li liAt least 5-10 years of previous working experience on similar projects. /li liVery good knowledge of thermodynamics and refrigeration principles are essential. /li liKnowledge of thermodynamics, physics, engineering and manufacturing processes. /li liEnglish – Intermediate level – written and spoken. /li liA high level of motivation combined with leadership abilities is required. /li liAble to work in competitive environment. /li liKnowledge of technical norms and standards. /li liCompetences: result-oriented, team player, careful to details, flexible. /li /ul h3Core Principals /h3 pSafety.
