Auxologico is looking for a Postdoc in the Laboratory of Cardiovascular Genetics that will direct and supervise the genetic activites of the lab.
The candidate will work on an international project funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation in collaboration with the group of Porf. Micheal Toft Overgaard at the University of Aalborg, aiming to decipher the functional effects of rare genetic variants in calmodulin with patient-specific models based on human induced pluripotent stem cells.
The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary team with expertise in clinical cardiology, human genetics, electrophysiology and stem cell biology.
In particular the candidate will:
1. investigate the functional consquences of calmodulin mutations with patient-specific human models integrating molecular, functional (electrophysiology), pharmacological and live imaging data;
2. build multicellular patient-specific models and organoids of human calmodulinopathies;
3. contribute to the writing of research papers;
4. assist in the supervision of PhD students and contribute to the lab requirements;
5. present scientific works at national and internationals meetings.
Essential requirements:
6. marked interest for the field of cardiac arrhythmias and/or genetics;
7. PHD in biology, biotechnology, molecular medicine, genetics or similar fields;
8. a solid publication track record;
9. ability to work independently;
10. good knowledge of written and spoken Engliesh;
11. good IT skills.
Preferential requirements:
12. experience in live imaging;
13. expertise in molucalr biology and/or molecular assays (qPCR, sorting, immunostainings);
14. experience in genome editing;
15. expertise in patch clamp electrophysiology and/or MEAs.
Proficiency in cell cultures, knowledge of human pluripotent stem cell cultures and differentiation will be an advantage.
Duration of contract:
16. This appointment will be initially for 1 year, with extensions for up to 4 years renewed according to progress. Salary will be base on experience.
