The AWS Infrastructure Energy Team (IET) is seeking a results‑oriented individual to join in the role of Grid Delivery Manager. In this role you will be responsible for delivering large‑scale critical HV/MV grid interconnection projects within EMEA under tight deadlines. The ideal candidate will have a high‑level technical understanding of HV/MV infrastructure projects including substations, cables and overhead lines, and a minimum of 5+ years’ experience in delivering HV & MV infrastructure projects/programs from design to energization. You will possess strong communication skills and the ability to deliver with diverse teams such as design engineering, construction, planning, environmental and real‑estate teams, ensuring delivery to tight timelines. Stakeholder management and weekly reporting on key project risks & issues at senior management, director and vice‑president level will be your responsibility. You will drive the grid infrastructure delivery program, standardise processes, develop tools for delivery executions and support financial budgeting.
Key Job Responsibilities
Deliver large‑scale critical HV/MV grid interconnection projects within EMEA under tight deadlines.
Apply high‑level technical understanding of critical HV/MV infrastructure projects including substations, cables and overhead lines.
Coordinate with design engineering, construction, planning, environmental and real‑estate teams to ensure timely delivery.
Manage stakeholder relationships and produce weekly reporting on key project risks & issues for senior management, director and vice‑president level.
Drive grid infrastructure delivery program, standardise processes, develop tools for delivery execution and support financial budgeting.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, construction management or similar technical focus.
Experience dealing well with ambiguity, prioritising needs, and delivering measurable results in an agile environment.
Experience building and cultivating relationships with internal and external stakeholders and willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
5+ years of experience in building power substations working with utilities and understanding their environment and culture.
Experience in analysing cost/benefit trade‑offs across a strategic portfolio, and demonstrated understanding of how to successfully transact business in multiple cultural contexts, as well as experience directly managing international teams is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in data centres or critical infrastructure.
Master’s Degree (MBA/MS) and/or PMP Certification preferred.
Experience designing substations or other energy infrastructure.
Experience working for utilities and with or for energy regulators.
Ability to communicate in additional languages.
