Position Overview :
The Technical Support Specialist ensures proper computer operations so end users can accomplish organizational tasks effectively and efficiently. Responsibilities include receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and resolving end user help requests, often involving diagnostics, help request tracking tools, and hands-on desktop support.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Proactively monitor and support end user hardware and software needs in a timely manner.
2. Prioritize workload to address critical issues first.
3. Install, upgrade, and configure hardware and software.
4. Assist in testing new hardware and software prior to deployment.
5. Configure, monitor, and maintain mobile security and virus protection software.
6. Maintain hardware and software inventories.
7. Install, configure, and troubleshoot content management systems.
8. Manage web environment, including maintenance, security, testing, and content updates.
9. Support VOIP phone systems, cellphones, and printers as backup.
10. Create and maintain user documentation for help desk support.
11. Ensure equipment remains operational, calling for repairs as needed.
12. Maintain confidentiality of organizational information.
13. Participate in ongoing education and professional development.
14. Ensure compliance with HIPAA, licensing, and other regulatory requirements.
15. Contribute to disaster preparedness and data security plans.
Qualifications :
High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or IT preferred. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a related role, with helpdesk/support experience preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft products (Azure, Office 365, SharePoint), operating systems, troubleshooting, and maintenance required. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills are essential.
