The Retail Buyer will meet business objectives and sales targets for all retail stores through effective planning and management of the product assortment and flow, as well as to routinely analyze performance of business goals and implement strategies to improve results. The Associate Buyers, Assistant Buyers, and Allocators will be reporting to the person in this position.
The successful candidate for this position will be required to travel to Pigeon Forge, TN 1-2 times per week. Candidates must be located within driving proximity of Pigeon Forge, TN to be considered for this role.
You’ll Make a Difference By
Developing, gaining approval, and executing product assortments for Retail and Outlet divisions that best represent and strongly deliver the Corporate brand image
Recommending outside vendors for purchasing non-branded products (e.g. leather goods, accessories, jewelry, bath and beauty, etc.); manage outside vendor relationships
Managing seasonal and replenishment buys with outside vendors weekly
Managing timing and flow of product based on seasonal plans and entrance and exit strategies
Assorting between stores optimizing the different geographic, climate and demographic profiles
Making product decisions based on historical data, attribute analysis, field input, and store knowledge
Comparison shop key markets to ensure stores are representative of target trends, merchandise mix and core customer needs; recommend SMUs to Design team as needed
Coordinating with Marketing/PR teams to determine advertised styles and targeted product campaigns
Scheduling and planning inventory accordingly to ensure cohesive message in-store and online
Ensuring financial objectives are achieved through optimal sales and inventory turn
Producing weekly, monthly and quarterly selling reports for analysis; evaluate stock levels to establish action plans
Recapping and evaluating seasonal performance by style, color, and attributes
Working closely with Planning team to identify business opportunities and risks on a daily/weekly basis
Identifying key items and key looks for each delivery to create impactful visual presentations in stores and online
Communicating with Visual Merchandising team on product mix and presentation in-stores to best convey brand image
Coordinating seasonal line reviews to create a well communicated product education program
Coordinating with Web Team and Production to best mirror in-store merchandising online
Communicating financial results, forecasts, and action plans to Sr. Director and cross-functional teams on a weekly basis
Attending weekly meetings with work team to ensure cross-functional alignment and execution
Building and maintaining collaboration with team members
Performing other related duties as required and assigned
About You
Required BA or AA in related field
5-7 years mid-high level buying experience
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Must be able to work well under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong proficiency in Excel
Physical Demands:
Communicate with staff
Window installations; climbing ladders, carrying or lifting odd or heavy props, using power tools [i.e. drill]
Driving/flying to retail locations
Regularly required to stand, walk, talk and hear
Frequently required to use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms
Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
Vision requirements: close vision, distant vision and ability to adjust and focus

The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000 per year.
The salary is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data for geographic locations.
