Responsibilities
The successful candidate will conduct high‑quality applied research in the areas of Multiphysics simulations, multi‑disciplinary optimization (MDO), enabling technologies and tools for deploying Digital Twin technologies, simulation workflow automation and high‑performance computing (HPC). In particular, the role involves aerodynamic shape optimization, adjoint optimization, topological optimization, numerical optimization using derivative‑free and gradient‑based methods, uncertainty quantification (UQ), optimization under uncertainty (OUU), low‑speed and high‑speed external aerodynamics, turbulence modelling (RANS, LES), design optimisation, and simulation workflow parametrization, automation and parallelization.
Qualifications
Master or PhD degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Mechatronics or Computer Science.
Seniority: Junior or Expert.
Desired Technical Skills and Knowledge
Modeling and simulation background in aerospace, aeronautical or mechanical engineering.
Knowledge of multiphysics simulations using high‑fidelity methods (FVM, DGFEM, FEM, LBM, SPH, CSM, EM, CHT, CFD, FDTD, SBR, etc).
Experience with commercial multiphysics simulation software (e.g. Ansys, Altair, Dassault Systemes, Cadence, ANSA Beta CAE, etc).
Experience with open‑source multiphysics simulation software (e.g. OpenFOAM, SU2, DAFOAM, TAU DLR, ELMER, Kratos, PETSc, etc).
Knowledge of shape and mesh morphing tools (e.g. RBFmorph, ntop, Cadence mesh morphing, Ansys mesh morpher, Sculptor morph, etc).
Knowledge of pre‑ and post‑processing tools commonly used in multiphysics simulations (Ensight, ParaView, CATIA, SpaceClaim, ANSA Beta CAE, Fluent meshing, Pointwise, FreeCAD, Blender).
Experience with Linux operating system.
Experience using HPC infrastructures.
>Experience with Python and scripting languages.
Simulation skills in aerodynamics, fluid dynamics, automatic shape optimisation, etc.
