Your Role
As a Scientist, you are expected to lead Process Development activities for NBEs and Biosimilars within the Pharmaceutical Development Group. Key technical skills include theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience with Lyophilization operations at laboratory scale (development of lyophilization cycles), with subsequent scale-up to pilot and full-scale manufacturing support. Under minimal supervision from the Manager, you will design experiments to support program strategies, coordinate activities within the Pharmaceutical Development Group, evaluate data, and prepare study protocols and reports to support technical programs from early development through clinical phases. You will serve as an expert in your assigned area, participate in core project meetings, and collaborate closely with colleagues from the Global Development and Launch network (Manufacturing, Regulatory, Quality Control, Analytical Development, CMC Teams) to support technical transfers and process validation activities. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with quality standards and health and safety procedures, and support innovation and improvement initiatives within the Department.
Who you are
* Degree in Chemistry, Biotechnology, or Biology; a PhD or Master’s in Pharmaceutical Development is highly desirable.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in Drug Product Development of biopharmaceutical products (research and/or industrial environment).
* Sound knowledge and hands-on experience in manufacturing biologics, focusing on lyophilization operations and support to manufacturing sites, including investigations.
* Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of techniques for characterizing the physico-chemical state of proteins (e.g., Chromatography, SDS-PAGE, Capillary Isoelectric Focusing, particle counting by light obscuration or MFI). Additional knowledge of higher-order protein structure analysis (circular dichroism, FT-IR, fluorescence spectroscopy, DSC) and techniques for fluidic characterization of solutions (rheology, density) is preferred.
* Project management experience is a plus.
* Proficiency in spoken and written English.
* Good knowledge of statistics, statistical tools, and Office applications.
