For the “Data Handling, Command & Control and Systems Modelling” unit belonging to the “Avionics & Electrical Engineering” department in the Competence Center Platform and Integration, we are looking for a Data Handling Engineer. About the Job The proposed job will be in charge of contributing to the different phases of the lifecycle of the Data Handling System (DHS) of the Spacecraft, starting from requirements to design definition. This includes FDIR of the Spacecraft, preparation of lower level requirements (especially for hardware and software entities), technical monitoring of internally procured items, and organization and execution of Technical reviews both internally and with external entities. Change management processes will also be mastered. The role also includes the design, implementation, and execution of test cases at the Avionic Test Bench and possibly at Satellite level, as well as documentation of V&V activities in VCD. Support to the satellite launch phase (simulations, LEOP, IOT) may also be performed. Key Deliverables

This is a permanent position. The working site is L’Aquila, but it might be required to work in other locations for short mid‑term periods (e.g., attendance at external test facilities or activities at customer or subcontractor premises). Short periods of 24‑hour shift work across the full week might be required upon specific program needs. About You Education and Experience
Master’s Degree in Electronic Engineering or Computer Science. Fluent in English (C1 or above certification) for listening and reading. At least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
Skills and Knowledge
Knowledge of cutting‑edge technologies such as multicore processors (LEON4/GR740), time/space partitioning operating systems and hypervisors (XTRATUM/PikeOS), CFDP protocol, CAN bus (CAN-OPEN protocol). CCSDS/ECSS telemetry and telecommand standards (synchronization and channel coding, data link). ECSS Packet Utilization Standard (PUS). SW development standards: ECSS E-40/Q-80. Data Handling Hardware (On Board Computer, Remote Terminal Unit, GNSS receiver, microprocessors). 1553, Spacewire, CAN open. SW or hybrid (HW/SW) simulators. Data compression and encryption. Orchestra Suite (PV:: & Doors at least).
