We seek a highly motivated Systems Engineer to raise the bar by delivering industry‑best security services, inventing and simplifying around complex challenges, and obsessing over the customer experience.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate within a 24/7/365 environment; on‑call support required approximately once every 4–6 weeks.Own security for Amazon’s services such as EC2, S3, and global retail sites; collaborate with software development teams to provide secure by default solutions.Deep dive into security technologies, including new access‑control design patterns, identity security services, access control, authorization, authentication, and lifecycle management.Design new security features, deploy software through automated systems, and operationally support security software.Develop approaches to automate fixes for operational issues and solve design problems.Relocation SupportAmazon will provide relocation support for successful applicants relocating within the European Union.Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical degree or equivalent experience.Knowledge of networking fundamentals.Experience working in a 24/7 production environment.Experience in Linux systems administration and/or development.Experience in at least two of: Python, Java, Perl, PHP, Ruby or Bash/Shell.Applicant must be a national of an EU member state.Preferred QualificationsKnowledge of configuration management systems such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible or related.Experience in site reliability engineering (SRE), systems engineering, systems administration, DevOps, security administration, or network administration.Experience in network capture and systems troubleshooting.Experience building scripts, tooling, and automation for large‑scale computing environments.EEO StatementAmazon is an equal‑opportunity employer.
