PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, and/or Plastics Engineering, or equivalent.
3- 5 years’ experience in plastic materials, part and mold design, processing or product development, project management in automotive or appliances Industry, preferably polyolefin
Must be able to travel to Customer sites, Vendors, and between WPP divisions.
Skilled in the use of basic computer software, including word-processing and spreadsheets.
Italian language fluent native, proficiency in English, other languages are advantage
Good relationship builder Self-starter & motivated
Renumeration, depends on seniority and region. Approx. Level 52.000 – 66.000 € salary gross

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is the technical liaison between the customer, the Product Manager and Product Development Engineer, communicating customer requirements and providing project selection and prioritization in cooperation with the Sales and Marketing Department.
This position typically manages development projects over a period of 1-3 years until start of production.
The MDE position is intended to play a major role in identifying and creating new sales opportunities and building a pipeline for sales growth.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops relationships with Customer base and their appropriate technical personnel.
Identifies potential current and/or future product application.
Defines, in cooperation with AC & Sales manager, development projects and priorities with OEM’S and Tiers.
Determines material requirements or specifications for targeted applications.
Communicates material requirements and desired timing to the Product Manager at project initiation.
Interfaces with both the Customer and the Product Development Engineer, continually communicating project status and any potential changes that may occur in the program from either viewpoint. Continues the interface between the Customer and Product Development until an acceptable material has been obtained.
Provides test data from material developed to Customer with feedback to Product Development indicating direction of future work.
Schedules molding trials for material evaluation in actual parts, attending as schedule permits.
Presents a formalized data package of developed material for customer approval.
Acts as Customer Representative meaning the employee has the responsibility & authority to ensure that customer requirements are addressed Documents program/project status with reports as required by manager.
Performs other duties and assignments as directed by supervisor.
