Overview
Underwriting at AIG helps find insurance solutions across various lines, including financial, property, casualty, specialty, cyber, multinational, and high net‑worth individuals. The role focuses on unlocking potential within our teams and delivering value to customers.
Responsibilities
* Underwrite a range of new and renewal construction business.
* Build relationships with brokers to communicate risk appetite, value proposition, and understand deal structures.
* Negotiate pricing, terms & conditions, and deal structure with brokers and clients.
* Generate new business by expanding broker network, attending broker events, and building market relationships.
* Collaborate with distribution, territory managers, and underwriters in other lines to target desirable accounts and cross‑selling opportunities.
* Set a high standard of customer service, mentor less‑experienced underwriters, and support them in building broker networks.
Qualifications
* Proven underwriting experience with solid knowledge of construction.
* Ability to analyze financial statements.
* Strong communication, networking, and relationship‑building skills.
* Good organizational and time‑management skills.
* Customer and sales‑oriented behaviors: motivated, tenacious, focused, technically skilled, proactive, and accountable.
* Interest in mentoring and training (experience preferred).
