The Department of Economics and Business (DiSea) at the University of Sassari invites applications for up to six fully funded Ph.D. positions in Economics, Management, and Quantitative Methods (EMQM), with the next cohort starting in November 2025.
About the Program
The EMQM Ph.D. program is a 4-year, full-time program designed to equip students with the analytical, theoretical, and quantitative tools necessary for cutting-edge research in economics, management, and quantitative methods and related fields. The curriculum combines advanced coursework with extensive research training, fostering both academic excellence and practice-oriented inquiry. Students are encouraged to explore interdisciplinary approaches, develop original ideas, and think creatively outside the box when preparing their dissertation.
About DiSea
For the second consecutive five-year period (2017–2022 and 2023–2027), DiSea has been recognized by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MUR) as a Department of Excellence. Its faculty conducts research across a wide range of topics in economics, business, mathematical statistics, and law, regularly publishing in top-tier national and international journals. DiSea offers multiple bachelor’s and master’s degree programs alongside its doctoral program, providing a vibrant and intellectually stimulating environment for students.
Application and Selection
Applications must be submitted exclusively through the online system:
* The Selection Committee will evaluate candidates based on their CV and research proposal.
* Short-listed candidates may be invited for an online interview.
* Final admission rankings will be published by early September 2025.
Successful candidates will receive a scholarship covering the full duration of the program, plus:
* Office space, library access, software, and databases.
* Research budget and additional funding during the mandatory 6-month or longer research period abroad.
* Opportunities to increase their stipend by working as teaching assistants and tutors.
