The agency was established in 2012 and is headquartered in Brussels, Belgium. /p pThe NCIA provides a wide range of services, including: /p ul liCyber Security: advanced cybersecurity solutions to protect NATO's communication networks and information systems against cyber threats. /li liCommand and Control Systems: systems used by NATO's military commanders to plan and execute operations. /li liSatellite Communications: services to enable secure and reliable communications between NATO forces. /li liElectronic Warfare: services to support NATO's mission to detect, deny, and defeat threats to its communication networks. /li liInformation Management: manages NATO's IT infrastructure, including databases, applications, and servers. /li /ul pOverall, the NCIA plays a critical role in ensuring the security and effectiveness of NATO's communication and information technology capabilities. /p h3The program /h3 h3Assistance and Advisory Service (AAS) /h3 pThe NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCI Agency) is NATO’s principal C3 capability deliverer and CIS service provider. It provides, maintains and defends the NATO enterprise-wide information technology infrastructure to enable Allies to consult together under Article IV, and, when required, stand together in the face of attack under Article V. /p pTo provide these critical services, in the modern evolving dynamic environment the NCI Agency needs to build and maintain a high performance-engaged workforce. The NCI Agency workforce strategically consists of three major categories: NATO International Civilians (NIC), Military (Mil), and Interim Workforce Consultants (IWC). The IWCs are a critical part of the overall NCI Agency workforce and make up approximately 15 percent of the total workforce. /p h3Role ID – /h3 pC /p h3Role Duties And Responsibilities /h3 ul liProvide professional and technical contributions to the design, development and execution of DCIS engineering projects. /li liContribute and participate in a Development-Operations (DevOps) environment using concepts like continuous integration, continuous change management, deployment automation and system monitoring. /li liSupport junior staff with incident management, service request and problem management processes as the senior engineer and ultimate problem solver. /li liProvide DCIS engineering support to technically plan and execute NATO approved exercises, either on-site or from remote. /li liDocument designs and implementations of assigned services as well as troubleshooting guides. /li liPlan, schedule, participate and lead technical support teams in support of projects and exercises. /li liProvide on the job training when necessary in order to maintain highly skilled and trained technical support for the Service Line. /li liDeputize for higher grade staff. /li liPerform other duties as may be required. /li /ul h3Essential Skills, Experience And Certifications /h3 ul liAt least 5 years' experience supporting and implementing in deployable or large enterprise environments of: /li liCentralized storage systems based on FC, iSCSI, SAS or hyper‑converged technology like vSAN. /li liRecent virtualization technologies based on VMware ESXi and vCenter. /li liRecent Microsoft Windows Server or Redhat Linux operating systems. /li liExpert directory, identity and access management across multiple interconnected and federated Active Directory domains and forests. /li liExpert DNS resolution, server hardening, AD troubleshooting and GPO development. /li liMicrosoft Remote Desktop solutions, or related application provisioning technology. /li liHigh availability systems (fail‑over clustering, database availability groups, stretched clusters, etc.). /li liWindows patching and anti‑malware update systems. /li liAt least 3 years' active participation in a DevOps team with demonstrable experience of: /li liBash or PowerShell scripting languages. /li liAutomation and orchestration tools. /li liThorough knowledge of TCP/IP networking principles. /li liKnowledge of ITIL IT service management mode and applied knowledge of Service Transition. /li liProven ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing technical manuals. /li /ul h3Desirable Skills, Experience And Certifications /h3 ul liFormal ITIL certification in Service Operation. /li liCOTS products (Microsoft MCSA/MCSE, VMware VCP, Cisco CCDA, CCNA). /li liPrevious in‑depth experience with Ansible configuration management and orchestration tool to manage Redhat Linux and Windows systems. /li liExpert experience in designing and troubleshooting complex VMware environments. /li liExpert experience in designing and troubleshooting McAfee ePolicy architectures. /li liPrior experience in maintaining Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint Server, ADFS environments. /li liPrior experience in maintaining VEEAM Backup Replication environments. /li liPrior experience working in a deployed exercise or operations environment. /li liPrior experience working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements. /li liKnowledge of NATO responsibilities and organization, including ACO and ACT. /li /ul h3Education /h3 ul liA minimum requirement of a Bachelor's degree at a nationally recognised/certified university in a related discipline and 2 years post‑related experience. /li liAlternatively, exceptionally, the lack of a university degree may be compensated by the demonstration of a candidate's particular abilities or experience that is of interest to NCI Agency, that is, at least 6 years extensive and progressive expertise in duties related to the function of the post. /li /ul h3Working Location /h3 ul liGrazzanise, Italy /li /ul h3Working Policy /h3 ul liOn‑site /li /ul h3Travel /h3 ul liSome travel to other NATO sites may be required. /li /ul h3Security Clearance /h3 ul liValid National or NATO Cosmic Top Secret personal security clearance. /li /ul pWe never know what new opportunities might be just over the horizon.
