We are recruiting for the Handling & Logistics Operational Support Engineer Professional - Taranto role at Vestas.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate continuous improvement on Handling and Transport processes across the manufacturing sites.
- Analyze AS IS and future state processes and identify improvement opportunities.
- Create and maintain a plan for improvement.
- Create the needed Engineering Change Notices (CNs).
- Lead improvement tasks and projects.
- Serve as case handler on escalation processes when factories cannot progress production, ensuring urgent and critical issues are resolved quickly.
- Contribute to building a culture of excellence, innovation, and responsibility.
- Investigate and solve production issues using structured methods (e.g., 5x Whys, Fishbone Diagrams).
- Apply continuous improvement principles using quality tools and Lean methodologies.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
- GB Lean
Experience
- About 6-8 years of experience in similar roles as described above

- Leading improvement tasks
- Analyses Handling & Logistics processes
- Transport tool specification
- Process flow creation
- Focus on optimization and standardization within manufacturing processes using relevant toolbox
Core competences
- Technical, analytical, and operational competencies tailored to Handling & Transport and continuous improvement
- Process design and optimization related to Handling & Transport
- Willingness to spend time in the factory environment to understand and solve problems
- Data-driven decision making with data analytics tools; knowledge of Lean
- Use of 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, and FMEA to identify and solve issues
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and organized
- Ability to collaborate across cultures and time zones with stakeholders
- Customer-oriented with understanding of the full business value chain
