Position: Power Electronics Engineer Location: Montecchio Maggiore (VI), Italy, within the Xylem Electronics Center of Excellence. This center aims to standardize and enhance Xylem's power electronics capabilities, designing a range of custom motor drives (variable frequency) to meet efficiency, usability, and reliability standards for various water applications. Our electronic engineers are responsible for power electronics and motor control across a portfolio of variable frequency drives, based on a reusable platform that can be customized for specific applications and environments. Main Responsibilities: Design, test, and verify electronic products and prototypes for single-phase and three-phase power supplies up to 1000 V. Schematic design and PCB layout using Altium Designer. Design and simulate analog signal chains with SPICE. Design, test, and prototype magnetic components. Conduct EMC/EMI testing and debugging. Ensure product compliance with standards. Collaborate with firmware engineers, physicists, and mechanical engineers. Generate design, test, and verification documentation. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Electronic Engineering with specialization in Power Electronics. At least 2 years of experience in power electronics design. Excellent knowledge of English and Italian. Proficiency in digital and analog circuit design. Experience with schematic design and layout tools such as Altium Designer, OrCAD, PADS. Knowledge of gate drive design, circuit protection, analog filters, and signal processing. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of motor control theory (synchronous and asynchronous). Practical experience with EMC/EMI testing and debugging. Magnetic component design, specification, and testing. Experience with PFC boost converters, fly-back converters, and full-bridge/half-bridge converters. Strong analytical skills and solid understanding of energy engineering fundamentals and theory.
