Jacobs in Italy is currently hiring a Piping Designer. The role involves designing complex piping systems and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Responsibilities Good understanding of engineering principles related to piping design, including fluid dynamics, stress analysis, material selection and code compliance (ASME, API, ANSI, etc.) Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing complex piping systems Interpret, work and develop engineering drawings, isometric drawings, P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) and other technical documents Familiarity with best practices in pipe design, support design, stress analysis, MTO control, and 3D model reviews Define routing of complex systems considering accessibility, installation, and safety requirements Identify and resolve design issues, clashes and conflicts between piping systems and other systems (mainly HVAC, electrical, Fire Protection, etc.) Collaborate with designers, engineers and stakeholders to ensure proper integration and successful project completion Understand cost estimation and budgeting for piping projects Ensure completion of activities within schedule, quality standards and project requirements Familiarity with piping systems fabrication and installation processes Knowledge of quality control procedures and inspection techniques for piping systems Curiosity and willingness to stay updated with the latest advancements in piping design technologies and practices Qualifications Minimum 10 years of experience as a Piping Designer Knowledge of engineering best practices relevant to the pharmaceutical market Organizational skills to manage multiple activities, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey design ideas and collaborate with team members and clients Ability to think critically and generate optimization ideas Good presentation skills, time management and troubleshooting approach guided by logical reasoning Inclination to continuous improvement in terms of productivity, quality and efficiency Ability to create and manage Pipe specs using AutoCAD Plant 3D Spec Editor is a plus Ability to set‐up, customize and maintain projects in AutoCAD Plant 3D is a plus Proficiency in using Autodesk P3D for modeling piping systems and extracting related construction documents Fluency in spoken and written English and very good knowledge of Italian (at least B2) Willingness to travel for short periods Preferred Qualifications Experience in piping systems for industrial plants, preferably in chemical, biotech and pharmaceutical industry Experience in using Navisworks and Bluebeam Good knowledge of Autodesk Plant 3D modeling software Practical field experience We are an equal‐opportunity employer and value diversity and inclusion. xivgfpx We strive to provide a disability‐confident workplace and support reasonable adjustments during recruitment. #J-18808-Ljbffr
