JOB DESCRIPTION:Responsible for delivering, commissioning, and operating end-to-end shipboard and cloud-based infrastructure. Ensures resilient, secure, and scalable infrastructure supporting applications developed for maritime business. The Infrastructure Specialist collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-availability systems and drive innovation in operational technology.CORE RESPONSIBILITIESCoordination of end‐to‐end ship infrastructure delivery in close collaboration with Shipbuilding engineering and yard operations.Datacenter installation and maintenance responsibilities (compute, storage, networking; lifecycle, capacity, continuity).Deploy, manage, and operate Kubernetes-based platforms, including provisioning, cluster lifecycle operations, and edge/ship environmentsEnsure seamless integration between shipboard OT systems and onboard/cloud IT platforms, following maritime safety, cybersecurity, and operational standards.Implement infrastructure-as-code, GitOps workflows, and automation pipelines to streamline deployment, configuration, and platform updates.Monitor platform performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability, resiliency, and disaster recovery for shipboard and cloud workloads.Collaborate with solution architects, cybersecurity teams, and business stakeholders to align infrastructure with project goals.Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements for scalability, security, and efficiencyCOMPETENCES AND WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, with significant exposure to edge computing, hyperconverged systems, or distributed compute platforms.Proven experience with Kubernetes orchestration, preferably with SUSE Rancher, Harvester, or equivalent edge/virtualization platforms.Proven expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid cloud environments.Solid understanding of OT protocols, industrial networks, and security best practices.Experience with IaC tooling (Terraform, Ansible) and GitOps workflows (ArgoCD, Flux).Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.Understanding operational needs and aligning infrastructure solutions to business goalsTaking initiative in projects, driving improvements, and ensuring high availability and resilienceFluent in English and ItalianNICE TO HAVEExperience in maritime, aerospace, defense, or industrial edge-computing sectors.Certifications related to Kubernetes, cloud engineering, or virtualization (CKA, Rancher, AWS/Azure).Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in agile development environments.#J-18808-Ljbffr
