We are looking for the position of Project Manager Sales.
YOU ACTThe Project Manager Sales is the point of contact and representative for the sales project both internally and externally. The Project Manager Sales ensures that an optimized, competitive overall bid is created, submitted and negotiated with the customer, and endeavours to conclude a contract that is beneficial to SMS group.
Represent the SMS group towards the customer and the project within the internal relationship.
Hold regular project discussions/negotiations with customers and consortium members, documenting meeting results.
Hold regular core team meetings, documenting meeting results.
Act as the overall sales project entrepreneur inside the company.
Understand the baseline of the project in terms of goals, substantive requirements and bid budget.
Define the project strategy ("Winning Strategy") in close cooperation with the Core Sales Team and the Project Owner Sales.
Define project‐specific requirements.
Manage the Core Sales Team.
Allocate the project budget (bid budget) approved until the next stage.
Perform target costing where required according to the project costing/result situation (total/unit costs) for the overall project.
Serve as the official point of contact with the customer and contract partners for all matters (technical & commercial), handling communication in close cooperation with the Commercial Manager Sales and the participating Technical Manager Sales until the contract is signed.
Convenene all meetings and discussions as necessary to the project involving the Core Sales Team or with contract partners, such as additional risk meetings.
Follow travel rules and approvals within the framework of the applicable travel guidelines.
Request all project‐related data and information.
Be granted (at least a project‐related) power of attorney in writing for negotiating of contract (legally binding signing only by representative of legal entity who takes the order).
YOU KNOW
Graduate or Bachelor/Master degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
At least 3–4 years of experience in technical sales for complex plant manufacturer companies.
Experience in analyzing complex requests from customers and preparing relevant technical offers.
Commercial skills to identify competitive solutions and manufacturing strategies.
Good knowledge of mechanical technical drawings and basic knowledge of media systems, electrical and automation packages.
Coordination skills necessary to manage the proposal project team.
Availability to undertake worldwide travel when required by the role.
Fluent in English; German knowledge is a plus.
Good knowledge of Office (including Project) and basic knowledge of SAP.
Experience with drawing tools (AutoCAD, Inventor, Creo, etc.) is a plus.
