Tasks and Qualifications
Main Job Objectives
* Deliver the assigned project scope and tasks by meeting or exceeding our safety, quality, on‑time delivery and budget requirements.
* Commission controls systems on site, including electrical and PLC software commissioning, and provide support to system test activities and end‑user training.
* Produce commissioning documentation, such as commissioning checklists, test specifications, method statements and risk assessments for automated solutions to BS EN ISO 12100.
* Interpret electrical schematics and design input information.
* Ensure supplied systems are CE compliant with the Machinery Directive.
* Commission safety‑related parts of the controls system solutions to the regulations and in accordance with BS EN ISO 13849/13850/60204, etc.
Qualifications & Experience
* Educational background in Electrical/Controls Engineering as a minimum.
* Desirable: Degree level education in a relevant discipline.
* Experience in a similar role.
* Good understanding of PLC, HMI, SCADA development and commissioning software.
* Hands‑on experience with electrical commissioning.
* Good understanding of electrical and electronic technical manuals & drawings.
* Good understanding of bus systems.
* Understanding of distributed control systems desirable but not essential.
* Understanding of automated warehouse desirable but not essential.
* Ability to travel to customer sites up to 80% of the time, domestically and internationally.
* Full driver’s license to support the travel requirements of the role.
* Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering.
Special Conditions
* Role requires 80% travel to customer sites within the EMEA European region, including travel to other Dematic offices or facilities across Europe.
