The CMF Experience Designer will contribute to creating and developing innovative CMF strategies and solutions that harmonize within home environments while standing out in expressive brand and communication spaces.What You Will DoWe are seeking a talented CMF Experience Designer to join the Milan Experience Design Centre. The role focuses on creating and developing global color, material, and finish (CMF) strategies that align with the company's brand identity and enhance product and spatial experiences. The designer will collaborate with architects, interior designers (internal and external), and multidisciplinary colleagues within the MED and NED teams—including industrial, spatial, and interaction designers—and cross-functional partners in Marketing, Brand, R&D and Manufacturing, on local and global levels to ensure design intent carries through from concept to production. The role also involves collaborating with the Qingdao CMF Team to synchronize strategy and scouting with sourcing development/testing and production execution.Key ResponsibilitiesSet up, curate, organize, and manage the Material Library as a central resource for the design team.Define short- and long-term strategic CMF directions that strengthen brand identity across Space and Product experiences.Research and analyze CMF trends across industries, including interior design, automotive, and consumer electronics, on local and global bases.Support the creation of visualizations, presentations, and storytelling assets to communicate CMF directions to stakeholders.Partner with suppliers and the HQD team to explore, test, and validate innovative materials, coatings, and finishes that balance aesthetics, performance, usability, sustainability, and cost.Translate CMF strategies with the Qingdao Team into applicable and manufacturable global and local solutions tailored to our industry and product portfolios.Develop and present CMF mood boards, palettes, and narratives that inspire and guide product development.Specify CMF details and create design guidelines, specifications, and prototypes for internal teams and suppliers.Ensure CMF execution is consistent, high quality, and aligned with brand values across the entire product and spatial portfolio.Collaborate closely on a global scale with industrial designers, UI/UX designers, interior designers and engineers, to integrate CMF solutions seamlessly into product design and Communication Spaces activities.What You Need To SucceedMust haveStrong portfolio showcasing CMF Strategy, innovation and development experience and trend research, presentation, and storytelling skillsKnowledge of CMF specification systems and supplier collaborationStrong sense of aesthetics, detail, and craftsmanshipSolid understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., plastics, metals, coatings, textiles, composites)Hands-on prototyping, material sampling, and finish testing skillsEducation: Master degree in Industrial Design, CMF Design, Interior Design. Professional experience: proven experience (2-5 years) in CMF design for consumer products, automotive, interior or related industries. Language: Fluency in English and Italian.
