The Automation Tester (AT) reports to the AlinIQ Product Research and Development organization within Abbott Core Diagnostics. The AT is responsible for designing, developing, executing, reviewing, and reporting automated tests for informatics products in compliance with division, corporate, and industry regulations. This role involves building and maintaining automation tools and test scripts. The AT serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for automation practices, collaborating closely with software engineers, testers, business analysts, cybersecurity teams, and others within Agile Scrum teams. The position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, independently, and to communicate effectively within a team. Core Job Responsibilities Design, develop, and execute automated software test plans for server, web, and cloud-based informatics products in collaboration with cross-functional Scrum teams. Develop and execute software tests (black and white box) across containerized and networked components. Design, script, and automate test cases supporting test-driven development and continuous testing. Understand application architecture, hosting infrastructure, dependencies, and feature workflows to identify risks at integration points and develop effective test cases. Conduct peer reviews of automation scripts, define testing criteria, analyze results, and present findings to developers and stakeholders. Analyze test cases and results to evaluate testing adequacy, coverage, boundary conditions, and regression testing. Document testing activities in accordance with regulatory, security, and privacy standards, including functional, performance, and regression testing. Advise developers on testing procedures, requirements, schedules, and potential issues. Perform fault isolation, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis during system integration and testing phases.
