Estimator Compensation & Benefits
Annual salary for the Estimator role varies from $130,000–$150,000 per year, and may be higher for candidates with exceptional experience and a successful history of performance. (Total compensation, including profit sharing programs, well exceeds the base range listed above.)

Estimator Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services. Candidates will be considered only with 5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience.
* Analyze project plans, specifications, and documents to determine project scope and estimate costs
* Prepare detailed conceptual and hard bid estimates across multiple construction disciplines
* Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain current pricing and evaluate competitive bids
* Support preconstruction by developing budgets, performing takeoffs, and coordinating early-stage value engineering
* Prepare preliminary construction schedules and assist in preconstruction planning
* Coordinate bid reviews and final proposal submissions with leadership
* Develop and maintain a database of historical costs, vendor pricing, and market trends
* Evaluate subcontractor proposals for accuracy, compliance, and scope coverage
* Assist project managers with buyout and subcontractor negotiations
* Collaborate with project teams to ensure budget alignment from estimating through construction
* Track and analyze project costs, updating forecasts and identifying variances
* Produce clear and detailed reports and estimates for internal and external stakeholders
Estimator Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent training and experience)
* 5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience, including new construction and renovations
* Proven ability to develop conceptual budgets from limited design documents
* Deep understanding of commercial construction practices, scopes, and sequencing
* Experience with various building types including educational, institutional, and/or aviation projects is strongly preferred
* Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, and other estimating software (Procore is a plus)
* Highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills
* Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
