We are looking to appoint an Engineer (m/f/i) with electric background to join our electrical controls team based in Carugate (Milan) and work on a hybrid basis .
Responsibilities
Independently determines project scope, performs product evaluation, drafts test plans and defines samples requirements by analyzing client requests and standard requirements;
Operates within but not limited to the North America safety scheme mainly using UL/IEC 60730-1 family of standards;
Autonomously determines project effort and time scheduling;
Communicates with clients to share scheduling progress, explain UL procedures and requirements, and discuss technical issues;
Interacts with laboratory activities by preparing testing documentation and instructions for lab technicians;
Develops customized test methods and set-ups for safety and performance testing;
Provides technical assistance to laboratory and/or field staff;
Serves as Project Handler and may sign as Reviewer as assigned;
Integrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job;
Proposes development of new and/or revised UL requirements;
Projects may include travel to conduct or witness tests at client sites;
May represent UL at industry-related functions such as seminars and trade shows;
May interact with global technical leaders for specific product categories or requirements;
May train office, field, and laboratory staff and entry-level engineers.
Qualifications
Master or bachelor degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), and/or directly related work experience;
Minimum 2 years of work-related experience;
Demonstrated ability to read and understand electrical schematics and bill of materials;
Italian language (minimum C1) and English fluent;
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining high quality and exceptional customer service;
Demonstrated ability to successfully partner with engineering and other laboratory personnel to complete projects in a timely manner with high quality;
Effective communication skills and ability to interact with international customers and colleagues;
Attitude toward continuous research and learning of standard applicability to new and innovative product architectures;
Attitude toward working in an international and multicultural team.
Plus item for Candidates
Knowledge in electronic controls is considered a plus;
Experience with UL/IEC/EN standards is also a plus;
Basic knowledge of laboratory equipment is considered a plus;
Coming from the TIC sector is a plus;
Experience in functional safety evaluation / safety software programming is a plus.
