The “Immunogenomics & Cancer” Flagship Research Programme investigates immune diseases and tumors as evolving systems, using multi-modal data and functional genomics assays to understand disease progression and drug resistance mechanisms. About the position: We seek a skilled and motivated Research Technician / Senior Research Technician to generate ‘omics data from models including patient-derived organoids and primary cell cultures. Responsibilities include optimizing and applying functional genomics protocols such as Hi-C, Dip-C, CAGE-seq, RADICL-seq, RIBO-seq, and others, generating high-quality NGS data, and contributing to research on cancer and immune-related diseases. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in molecular biology, hands-on NGS experience, and confidence working with human samples. Collaboration with experimental and computational scientists is expected. This role offers the chance to work with advanced technologies within the HT National Genomics Facility. Key responsibilities: Implement and optimize functional genomics methods. Work with human samples and models. Develop and standardize protocols. Generate high-quality NGS libraries and maintain accurate records. Collaborate with the HT Genomics Facility. Support and train lab members in genomics techniques. Ensure safety compliance and update risk assessments. Job requirements: Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, or related field. Proven expertise in NGS library preparation and data generation. Experience working in relevant laboratories. Fluency in English. Preferred qualifications: Hands-on experience with cutting-edge ‘omics methods. Experience working with human-derived samples. Proficiency in molecular biology techniques. Organizational and interpersonal skills: Ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills. Team-oriented with interpersonal skills.
