Development Professionals, Inc. (DPI) is seeking a qualified and experienced professional to serve as Italian Instructor - Part Time for an engagement providing services in the Army Community Service (ACS) in USAG-Italy Vicenza. The position is a part time job and will involve delivering Italian language instruction courses, including cultural immersion sessions and proficiency testing, for US military personnel, their dependent family, and other authorized members of the community. Hours will vary between 8-14 hours per week, depending on activities. Courses will be delivered at the Davis Family Readiness Center. Fluency in both English and Italian will be required for this position. The Italian Instructor - Part Time shall: - Provide Basic and Intermediate levels of Italian Language instruction. A total of 12 sessions will be offered annually—eight Beginner-level sessions and four Intermediate-level sessions. Each class session shall be conducted twice per week, spanning eight weeks and consisting of 16 total classes per session. Classes will be scheduled on Mondays and Wednesdays, with designated times of 0900-1100 or 1130-1330. Exact calendar dates shall be determined in coordination with the client; - Organize and conduct two field trips per session to reinforce cultural immersion and real-world language use. Field trips shall not exceed eight hours. Field trips may be scheduled in lieu of a regular class session. Transportation shall be privately owned vehicle (POV) carpooling. If Basic and Intermediate field trips coincide on the same date, both groups shall be combined for participation. - Develop a detailed course syllabus, specifying course objectives, lesson structure, evaluation methods, and learning outcomes, and identifying printed course materials to be used; - Develop and administer an End-of-Course Test for students to evaluate their comprehension and proficiency (testing and course structure must be approved by the client, and students must achieve a minimum passing score of 70% to advance to subsequent classes); - Document class attendance and submit monthly reports; - Carry out other duties as assigned by the Contract Manager. - Security Check: Must be eligible to work in Italy and able to obtain all required background checks according to USAG Italy and Army in Europe regulations for access to US Army installation. - Education: At least a two (2) year college degree (Associate’s or equivalent) in Education, Teaching, or Foreign Languages from an accredited institution. Official college transcripts will be required as proof of qualification. - Experience : - Minimum of two (2) years of full-time experience in teaching Italian to adults in formal and informal settings; - Documented experience shall be detailed in a professional resume. - Language Proficiency Oral and written fluency in Italian and English (Level 4 Fluent). Preferred Qualifications - Experience working in a US Military environment / prior work with ACS, military personnel and their dependents. - Located in the Vicenza area in Italy (no commuting or relocation costs will be provided). - Experience handling crisis communications and work under pressure.
