Role
As a 2nd Engineer, you will serve as a role model, responsible for performing engine watch operations, controlling and maintaining machinery, updating and controlling the planned maintenance system (PMS), and ensuring safety standards.
Key responsibilities
* Ensure smooth ship operations and maintenance of machinery, inspiring confidence and reliability in the team.
* Maintain a safety and efficiency-focused environment, leading the team with enthusiasm and trust.
* Stay passionate about new technologies and willingness to learn.
Responsibilities
* Carry out watch according to official standards.
* Oversee maintenance and checks per PMS for designated tasks in cooperation with the Senior Engineer of the watch.
* Report all relevant changes and information to the SEOOW.
* Guide colleagues in professional development, trainings and safety protocols.
* Cultivate a supportive work environment and motivate the team to achieve excellent results.
Safety & Compliance
* Familiarize and act according to latest HESS (Health, Environmental, Safety and Security) rules and regulations.
* Create a welcoming and secure environment where everyone feels comfortable and respected.
What makes you unique
* Holder of national second engineer certificate of competency (COC III / 2 unlimited) per STCW regulations.
* At least one year of experience as a watchkeeping Engineer on a cruise vessel or as 2nd Engineer on different types of vessels.
* B2 level English; knowledge of other languages is a plus.
* Good communication skills; curious, organized, and determined with experience in people management.
