The Human Resources Assistant role in our People Experience and Technology (PXT) team provides fundamental HR knowledge at Amazon, helping you become well-versed in processes and policies that enable us to deliver on our promises to our associates and customers.

The Amazon Customer Service PXT team seeks a Human Resources Assistant who is dedicated to delivering an exemplary associate experience. Successful candidates will be approachable, action-oriented, flexible problem solvers with excellent verbal and written communication skills and exceptional attention to detail. Human Resources Assistants provide friendly HR support to our Customer Service associates on a broad range of topics, including benefits, policies, and payroll, while maintaining confidentiality. This is an excellent opportunity to grow professionally and make a positive impact daily.


Key job responsibilities

1. Respond accurately and professionally to questions and concerns from associates via multiple channels (in-person, email, phone, etc.) promptly.
2. Escalate issues related to leave, accommodations, or employee relations when necessary.
3. Enter and review associate data in HRIS and payroll systems accurately and timely.
4. Provide expertise to associates and leadership on HR practices, systems, and resources.
5. Analyze data on key metrics such as attendance, attrition, engagement, and labor fill.
6. Advocate for a positive employee experience by partnering with leaders and teams, including educating on self-service tools.
7. Coordinate and implement activities that promote an inclusive environment.
8. Assist managers with employee inquiries regarding attendance, pay, benefits, policies, and accommodations.


Basic Qualifications

* Relevant experience in HR, Employee Relations, or Payroll.
* Proficiency in written and spoken English.
* Experience communicating with stakeholders at all levels, including peers and leadership.
* Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional setting.
* At least 1 year of exposure to HR functions.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding payroll, benefits, and employee issues.
* Intermediate Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and basic formulas.
* Training and experience in Human Resources or Customer Service, with strong interpersonal skills and patience.
* An Associate’s degree from an accredited college.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.


Preferred Qualifications

* Additional experience in onboarding processes and related administration.
* While preferred, these qualifications are not required to apply.
