Overview

About Us: At Adaptronics, we are at the forefront of deep-tech innovation, revolutionizing how robots grasp objects, on Earth and in space. Our groundbreaking Electro Active Adhesive Layer (EAAL) is a thin-film technology that empowers robots and automated machinery to manipulate objects with unparalleled versatility, lightweight design, and energy efficiency. Through electrostatics, our thin-film becomes adhesive on command, and features AI-driven embedded sensor capabilities for proximity and contact force. Our products find application in various sectors, from industrial automation to in-orbit servicing.

Who are we looking for: We are looking for a hands-on, skilled Production Technician to join our manufacturing and integration team.

The selected candidate will work directly on the production process of the EAAL and on its integration into Adaptronics’ electroadhesive robotic gripping products, designed for object handling in automated machinery and robotic grippers.

The technician will be involved in the fabrication, assembly, and integration of EAAL-based components and systems, contributing to the development and scaling of our advanced manufacturing processes.

The production activities involve a combination of advanced manufacturing and precision processing techniques, including: flexible printed electronics manufacturing, laser processing and micro-machining, additive manufacturing, machining with conventional machine tools, quality measurements and inspection procedures, and assembly, bonding, and integration of multilayer components.

The role requires a practical attitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with engineers and researchers to translate advanced electroadhesive technologies into robust industrial products.

Key Responsibilities

* Operate, prepare, and maintain flexible electronics printing equipment and related production tools.
* Execute fabrication and assembly processes for EAAL components, including handling and integration of delicate thin polymer-based layers and flexible electronic circuits.
* Perform laser processing, micro-machining, and surface treatment operations on thin materials.
* Assemble electromechanical and multilayer components, ensuring proper alignment, bonding, and integration into robotic gripping products.
* Conduct quality control and functional tests on mechanical and electrical components using laboratory equipment.
* Follow and contribute to production procedures, technical documentation, and manufacturing protocols.
* Support process optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities during manufacturing and assembly.
* Ensure proper handling, storage, and preparation of materials and components used in the production process.
* Collaborate closely with engineers and researchers to translate prototype processes into reliable manufacturing workflows.
* Collaborate closely with engineers and researchers to translate prototype processes into reliable manufacturing workflows.

Must-Have

* Education
* Technical diploma in electronics, electromechanics, mechatronics, mechanics or related fields.
* Technical Skills
* Strong manual skills and precision handling of thin and flexible materials (films, flexible PCBs, multilayer polymer structures, rigid-to-flex connections).
* Experience in mechanical assembly or electromechanical systems integration.
* Familiarity with basic laboratory and workshop practices, including safe handling of materials and equipment.
* Basic ability to read technical documentation in English (datasheets, manuals, procedures).
* Soft Skills
* Team-oriented and proactive attitude towards working in a fast-paced startup environment
* Critical thinking with a proactive mindset for process improvement.
* Hands-on mindset with strong attention to detail and quality.
* Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
* Problem-solving attitude with a proactive approach to troubleshooting and process improvement.
* Adaptability and willingness to work in a fast-paced deep-tech startup environment.
* Language
* Basic English (technical comprehension)

Nice-to-Have

* Hands-on experience with laboratory instrumentation (multimeters, power supplies, oscilloscopes, etc.).
* Experience with printed electronics techniques (screen printing, inkjet printing, aerosol jet, etc.).
* Experience with flexible electronics or thin-film fabrication processes.
* Certifications on Electronics and Assembly (e.g. IPC J-STD-001 on soldering) and on Industrial Safety (e.g., PES/PAV/PEI, NCO,…)
* Familiarity with laser processing or microfabrication techniques.
* Experience with In-Mold Electronics processes
* Experience with additive manufacturing (3D printing).
* Basic experience with CNC machining or workshop machine tools.
* Experience working in R&D prototyping environments or advanced manufacturing processes.

What we offer

* Opportunity for personal and professional advancement
* Dynamic work environment, with top of the industry experts
* Continuous learning and development opportunities
