Golf Spray Technician
Tenuta Toscana, nestled in the rolling hills of Tuscany, is one of the most prestigious properties—featuring a world-class golf course that blends natural beauty, agronomic innovation, and championship-caliber design.
The
Golf Spray Technician
plays a vital role in maintaining the health, appearance, and performance of the golf course turf by safely and accurately applying fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, and other turf treatments.
Reporting to the Assistant Superintendent, the Spray Technician will work closely with the agronomy team to execute application programs aligned with Tenuta Toscana's elite maintenance standards.
Main duties and responsibilities
Safely mix, calibrate, and apply chemical and fertilizer products on all golf course turf areas using sprayers and spreaders.
Operate spray equipment with precision, ensuring even coverage and adherence to application schedules.
Maintain detailed records of all chemical applications in accordance with regulatory standards and internal procedures.
Monitor turfgrass health and report any signs of pest, disease, or nutrient stress to the management team.
Conduct daily inspections and maintenance of spray equipment for safety and performance.
Assist with inventory control, chemical storage, and safe handling of all agronomic products.
Follow all environmental, safety, and compliance regulations regarding chemical usage and storage.
Support general course maintenance duties as needed during non-application periods.
Requirements
2–3 years of experience in golf course maintenance or turf spray operations preferred.
Strong understanding of turfgrass science, pest management, and safe chemical handling.
Ability to calibrate and operate sprayers, spreaders, and application equipment.
Knowledge of local and international safety regulations and chemical application best practices.
Strong attention to detail, record-keeping, and organizational skills.
Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Valid driver's license required; pesticide application license or certification is highly preferred (or ability to obtain).
Proficiency in English required; basic Italian is a plus.
Willingness to relocate to Tuscany.
Full-time contract in accordance with the Italian Collective Bargaining Agreement (CCNL).
Meals provided both during working hours and on days off.

We are searching for a
Capo Meccanico
for overseeing all maintenance and repair of golf course equipment and vehicle fleets.
This role is crucial in ensuring that the golf course maintenance team has fully operational, safe, and reliable equipment to deliver the superior playing conditions expected at Tenuta Toscana.
We are looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented professional with deep mechanical expertise, leadership capability, and a passion for excellence.
Main duties and responsibilities
Maintain, repair, and service all golf course equipment including mowers, utility vehicles, tractors, small engines, and attachments.
Develop and manage a preventative maintenance program to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
Lead and mentor a team of mechanics and technicians; provide training in safety and equipment handling.
Oversee daily inspections, ensuring all equipment is in top working order before heading out to the course.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized maintenance facility.
Maintain accurate service records, parts inventory, and tool inventories.
Diagnose hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical issues efficiently and accurately.
Work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and Foremen to anticipate needs and prioritize repairs.
Manage the equipment maintenance budget, procurement of parts, and vendor relationships.
Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, environmental standards, and local regulations.
Requirements
5+ years of experience as a mechanic or technician in golf course, turf, or heavy equipment maintenance.
Prior experience in a supervisory or lead mechanic role strongly preferred.
Expert knowledge of small engine repair, hydraulic systems, electrical diagnostics, welding, and fabrication.
Familiarity with major turf equipment brands (e.g., Toro, John Deere, Jacobsen, etc.).
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
Proficiency in English required; Italian is a plus.
Valid driver's license and ability to work flexible hours when needed.

Reporting to the Director of Agronomy, you will manage a skilled team dedicated to upholding Tenuta Toscana's uncompromising standards of quality.
Main duties and responsibilities
Lead all aspects of golf course maintenance including turfgrass management, irrigation, pest control, landscaping, and environmental stewardship.
Develop and implement comprehensive agronomic programs tailored to maintain and enhance premium playing conditions year-round.
Supervise, mentor, and develop the agronomy staff, promoting a culture of excellence, safety, and professional growth.
Collaborate with golf operations, design consultants, and senior management on course improvements, capital projects, and tournament preparations.
Manage departmental budgets, procurement, and resource allocation efficiently to optimize performance and cost-effectiveness.

Requirements

Minimum 10 years' experience in golf course management, with at least 5 years as a Superintendent at a premier facility or private club.
Expertise in turfgrass science, integrated pest management, irrigation technology, and course conditioning.
Proven leadership and team management skills, with a track record of cultivating high-performance teams.
Strong budgeting, project management, and organizational capabilities.
Fluency in English required; proficiency in Italian is a strong asset.
