Ph3bJob Title: Construction Manager for Emmock /b /h3 pbReporting to: /b Project Manager /p h3bRole Purpose /b /h3 pThe Transmission Distribution Sector is currently thriving as the Government looks to ensure that the infrastructure is in place to take advantage of the growth in the Renewable Energy Sector.br/Omexom is a partner of SSE on the ASTI Framework and Pathway to 2030 is a key part of this, being the hub for several other schemes to feed into the Grid. /p pThe Construction Manager is a pivotal role and will manage all specified works on electrical substations ensuring delivery on time to the required standards. /p pInitially the position will be on a hybrid basis although attendance will be required at other locations such as site, Perth, Glasgow or as required.br/Hours of work shall normally align with site hours Mon-Fri, Sat. Occasional working outside these hours will be required to suit the requirements of the project. The Site is Emmock 400kV Substation. /p pThey will assist the senior management team with delivery of the project and be a main point of contact daily for the client. /p pThis is an ideal opportunity to work on a prestige large project for a Tier 1 Contractor with a visible path of progression to Project Manager. Omexom encourage and support their staff to develop and maximise their potential. /p h3bResponsibilities Duties /b /h3 pIncluding but not limited to the following: /p ul lipActing as customer lead for the site management of projects and ensuring the daily delivery of site works /p /li lipBe fully conversant with the Works Information and Scope of Works /p /li lipManage and deal with Change Management in line with the requirements of NEC 3, liaising closely with the project commercial team /p /li lipOrganise and attend progress meetings and prepare minutes if required /p /li lipProvide key information to the Project Manager to include in the Project Managers reports /p /li lipEnsure that the site manager is maintaining a precise and accurate daily site diary including but not limited to resource, program, progress photos (time stamped), weather, materials, issues, or any other information that the Project Manager deems required /p /li lipUndertake line management of supervisors and sub-managers /p /li lipEnsure that the works are undertaken in line with the Omexom Project Delivery Process /p /li lipAlong with site support, ensure that all site records, communications etc. are stored on the Omexom internal Information Management System /p /li lipOverall responsibility for the management of all site activities /p /li lipOrganise, lead and minute pre-start, progress, and hand-over meetings with all subcontractors /p /li lipAssist the Project Manager and P6 Planner in the weekly update of the Clause 32 Contract Program /p /li lipManage the look ahead’s required and issue ‘look ahead’ programs as deemed required by the Project Manager /p /li lipResponsible for the management of the construction, maintenance, fitting and wiring of substation plant and equipment /p /li lipManage a team of supervisors, engineers, and sub-managers daily /p /li lipFollow all published guidelines, standards, policies, and procedures to ensure satisfactory completion of work /p /li lipAssist the Commercial Team in preparing applications for payment, additional works submissions and cost reviews /p /li lipEnsure all works are undertaken in compliance with the Project design and construction documents, including construction drawings and lift plans /p /li lipWorking closely with the Project Manager for successful project delivery /p /li lipDeliver scheduled/unscheduled work to time, ensuring quality standard in accordance with defined work scope /p /li lipPlan and manage along with the PM the resource levels on site in line with the Program requirements and project needs /p /li lipAssist with procurement and the PM in the management and control of all sites-based orders and materials /p /li lipSet up and maintain a Non‑Conformance Register /p /li lipAttend community engagement and stakeholder meetings if required /p /li lipPlan, manage, attend, and record OPS daily briefings (CM to ensure they happen daily, attended by all, minutes uploaded to IMS) /p /li lipEnsure all plant and equipment is ordered in an efficient and timely manner /p /li lipComplete all site-related paperwork accurately and to time, including site measurement and work record sheets /p /li lipAppoint direct supervision for work parties /p /li lipEnsure site check sheets and ITP schedules are completed satisfactorily /p /li lipProvide a mentoring role to develop nominated staff for their training and development /p /li lipTo ensure that the site induction is updated regularly /p /li lipAlong with the site manager, ensure that all persons who attend site are inducted and competent to complete their works /p /li lipTo ensure that all lifts are planned on site /p /li lipTo ensure that all site plans are correct and updated regularly /p /li lipThat the site manager/s keeps an accurate skills/competency matrix /p /li lipTo complete a monthly report that captures but not limited to progress, commercial, and any issues /p /li lipTo assist with the recruitment of site managers/site supervisors /p /li lipReview any design deliverables where applicable /p /li lipAttend/participate in stage-by-stage outage planning /p /li lipReview any construction programs /p /li lipReview any scope of works for any sub-contracts with contractors/suppliers /p /li /ul h3bKey Interfaces /b /h3 pRelationships with key stakeholders: /p ul lipThe Site Managers /p /li lipThe Site Supervisors /p /li lipProject Planners /p /li lipProcurement /p /li lipCommercial /p /li lipSite Fitters and Apprentices /p /li lipSub-Contractors /p /li lipThird Party Workforces that may be affected by our works /p /li lipProject Team (Design) /p /li lipProject Manager /p /li lipClient nominated representatives /p /li /ul h3bPerson Specification /b /h3 h3bQualifications and Experience /b /h3 pThe Construction Manager must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working on TSO substation sites operating from 132kV to 400kV. /p pThe Construction Manager will also possess: /p ul lipA proven site management history with the ability to execute critical tasks in real time /p /li lipSMSTS Qualification /p /li lipCSCS Black card or equivalent /p /li lipKnowledge of the NEC 3 suite of contracts /p /li lipFamiliarity of Contract Program systems such as P6 or MS Project /p /li lipThe ability to plan works in the most efficient manner /p /li lipThe ability to manage and motivate industrial staff /p /li lipThe ability to put the customer at the centre of decision making /p /li lipThe ability to engage at a specific and detailed level with key tasks /p /li lipPersonal integrity, resilience, and the robustness needed to operate in a fast‑changing contracting environment /p /li /ul h3bCompetencies /b /h3 pRequired skills, knowledge, and
