We provide integrated engineering and project management services across the project lifecycle—from concept and design to construction and operation, to decommissioning or repowering and life extension. We help deliver the energy transition globally.Overview Of The RoleThe Energy Transition team within our Energy unit is looking for Senior Control & Instrumentation Engineers to strengthen the existing C&I team; providing advisory and design capabilities across a variety of power and energy projects types and technologies in a growing portfolio, supporting our clients in the UK and across Europe as part of the energy transition.Key Responsibilities And DutiesWork on projects in a variety of stages of maturity, including Owner’s Engineer, Design Review, Feasibility Studies, FEED Studies and Detailed Design. There will be opportunities for site work during project development, construction and commissioning.Prepare C&I deliverables such as equipment specifications, control philosophies, calculations, equipment datasheets, loop drawings, cable block diagrams, general arrangement drawings, cable routing drawings, review P&IDs and other process information.Participate in safety reviews (HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA).Coordinate C&I delivery on multi-disciplinary projects, interfacing with other disciplines, project engineer, project manager and customer.Develop cost-effective, efficient and innovative solutions to complex problems to create practical designs based on these solutions.Work with equipment vendors on developing designs of equipment packages and participate in technical evaluations of vendor designs.Support in developing proposals and bids for the C&I discipline and contribute to multi-disciplinary proposals.Provide technical leadership and governance.A commitment to promoting health, safety, and wellbeing in the workplace.Candidate specificationEssentialA Degree in a relevant Engineering subjectChartered Engineer (or in the process of obtaining) and Member of relevant Engineering InstituteSignificant postgraduate experience in C&I technical deliveryThe ability and desire to assume a lead role in the development of C&I deliverablesAbility to adapt and work on multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic and fast-paced environmentExcellent communication skillsKnowledge of design and construction of power and energy projectsProven understanding of the design process and ability to demonstrate working knowledge of brief/scope documents, design concepts as well as experienced in producing calculationsDetailed working knowledge of national and international codes and standards used within the power and energy sectorExperience of working with design software packages such as AutoCAD, Aveva, etcKnowledge of OEM control systems such as Siemens, ABB, Emerson, etcExperience of working with clients and contractors with a diverse range of objectives in achieving a technical solutionDesirableExperience within Owner’s Engineer or technical advisory sectorEquality, diversity, and inclusionWe put equality, diversity, and inclusion at the heart of our business, seeking to promote fair employment procedures and practices to ensure equal opportunities for all.
