Your contribution to Prysmian's Success: Inside our HQ Purchasing team, we are looking for a Global Senior Buyer - Raw Materials.
In this role, you will:
Negotiate with key suppliers defining the appropriate conditions for maximizing value creation for the Group
Lead and support commodity-related initiatives at regional/local level, in cooperation with the relevant internal stakeholders (GCL, Supply Chain, R&D;, Sales, Quality, etc.)
You will also:
Ensure design and execution of the sourcing strategies and sourcing events in cooperation and alignment with, where appointed, Global Commodity Leaders, local purchasing teams and the other key internal stakeholders
Negotiate contracts and any other agreements with suppliers that are functional to the sourcing strategy in place
Govern the supply base and suppliers’ performance (including service level, quality, risk and compliance monitoring), ensuring the appropriate supplier selection, qualification, development and overall supplier management practices are in place. Support local teams in resolution of key issues arising in the supply of goods to the plants
Acquire a deep knowledge of raw material market dynamics, of the relevant supply base and of the materials applications within Prysmian
Lead market trend analysis for the commodities/geographies in scope and develop insights for business stakeholders, including support to purchasing team at global and local level in budgeting/forecasting and price evolution analysis for the commodities in scope
Lead the relationship with R&D; to govern key qualification programs and innovation initiatives, including Design-To-Cost programs
You are the right fit if you have/are:
Fluent in English and Italian
up to 8 years professional experience as a Commodity buyer within multinational companies with a matrix organization
A Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or other related Engineering Degrees
Knowledge of plastics, metal or chemicals, and contracts
Proficient in data analytics
Strong negotiation skills
Excellent in building strong relationships at all level of the organization, and able to work in multi-functional and international teams
Able to meet strict deadline and work under pressureStrong communication & interpersonal skills
Decision making attitude, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Strong teamwork skills, results oriented and ambitious mindset
Availability to travel
