Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, ICN - DCEO
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.
Key Job Responsibilities
* Maintain 24 / 7 operations coverage with flexible scheduling, including rotating shifts
* Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders
* Operate electrical and mechanical equipment, including Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS), Transformers, Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), Generators, Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC), Exhaust Fans.
* Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds and log‑taking (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.)
* Troubleshoot events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA)
* Manage routine maintenance and emergency services on critical systems
* Maintain high system reliability by prioritizing and resolving trouble tickets efficiently
* Serve as escalation point and provide technical troubleshooting for all environmental and facility issues
* Participate in Data Center power and cooling events
* Handle and lift equipment manually when required (weight limits follow regulations)
* Follow and maintain the highest safety standards while encouraging a world‑class safety culture
* Participate in emergency drills and support emergency facility event response according to established protocols
* Manage procurement for DCEO related expenditure
* Responsible for asset and inventory management
* Perform replacement of internal and external hardware parts of Servers and Network devices
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related fields) or equivalent experience
* Ability to work 24 / 7 rotating shifts and lift rack equipment up to 20kg and work in cramped spaces or elevated locations using portable ladders while adhering to health & safety guidelines
* Fluent in Korean with basic English proficiency
Preferred Qualifications
* Minimum 3 years of experience in data center or similar industry
* Knowledge of mechanical (HVAC, Controls) and electrical systems
* Professional certifications in electrical, mechanical, or fire protection systems
* Valid work authorization in Korea with no restrictions for international travel
