Mechanical Field Service Engineer - Compressor Specialist
Join Baker Hughes as a Mechanical Field Service Engineer – Compressor Specialist. As a member of our Industry & Energy Technology (IET) team, you will optimize the extraction, production, and processing of energy for a diverse range of customers.

In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our global customers on‑site, leading installation, maintenance, and repair of centrifugal/reciprocating compressors and ensuring HSE compliance.
Responsibilities
* Providing technical direction for site activities to internal teams and skilled labor to ensure safety, compliance and quality.
* Overseeing overhaul, troubleshooting, and commissioning of centrifugal/reciprocating compressors at customer sites.
* Leading customer and contractor meetings to share action plans and advise on technical solutions.
* Ensuring internal training, compliance and quality documentation is updated, followed and completed according to company standards.
Qualifications
* Good working knowledge of the installation and maintenance of rotating equipment.
* Experience working in a mechanical role in an energy or oil and gas environment (or similar).
* Customer service‑orientation mindset and experience leading customers through tough decisions.
* Ability to communicate complex technical information to customers and teams with varying levels of technical understanding.
* Deep awareness of Health, Safety and Environmental compliance and potential risks.
* Motivated self‑starter who can make key decisions and innovate solutions.
* Excellent command and understanding of verbal and written English.
* EU passport / European work permit; excellent verbal and written English and Italian language.
* Ready to travel significantly (up to 70%) without geographical restriction, including offshore facilities.
