We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Process Control Engineer to join the Global Process Control Team, where you will play a key role in shaping, standardizing and advancing automation and control system strategies across PPG’s global manufacturing network.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Participate in the development of standard control system functionality around batch manufacturing to be deployed throughout PPG.
* Support plants in identifying opportunities for automation and support plant engineering projects aimed to improve process efficiency, compliance and business continuity risk.
* Provide support to legacy control systems in existing plants.
* Support in Design, implement, test, and startup of automated control systems.
* Author technical documentation and standards related to process control systems and adjacent areas within PPG.
* Provide technical guidance on various engineering topics
* Assist with system startup support to secure success of the projects.
* Providing documentation assistance on technical training and support to software providers, operators and maintenance personnel on process control systems, helping to enhance their understanding and usage.
* Manage development of automation projects for PPG’s sites.
* Present technical subjects to the wider automation community within PPG.
Qualifications and Experience
* At least a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical or Chemical Engineering
* At least 5 years’ experience in roles related to automated controls in process industries (chemicals, food, drinks, pharma). Ideally with and within distributed international teams.
* Relevant experience in designing, using and deploying Batch automation systems.
* Experience in Rockwell Automation suite of products (Logix, PlantPAx, FTView, FTBatch).
* Experience in GE’s Proficy suite of products (iFix, Historian, Batch).
* Experience in DCS system design and operation.
* Strong knowledge of IT and field networks.
* Strong diagnostic and problem solving skills.
* Experience in developing and managing projects.
* Proficiency in technical documentation writing and organizing technical drawings.
* Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects, as well as work well in a team-oriented environment.
* Availability for international travels.
* Fluent English.
