Data Center Engineering Operations Senior Technician - AWS Owned DC, DCEO Job ID: | Amazon Data Services Italy S.R.L.
The Data Center Engineering Operations (DCEO) team is seeking engineers who can deploy, operate, and maintain facilities (electrical/mechanical systems, control/fire‑fighting systems, etc.) and manage related projects at our large‑scale, high‑density data centers. This role requires a highly driven, self‑managed individual who demonstrates initiative and proactively seeks solutions to complex technical problems. This is a Mechanical and Electrical (M&E;) engineering role, managing infrastructure such as diesel generators, switch gear, UPSs, PDUs, AHUs, fire detection systems and building automation systems.
You will report to the Data Center Engineering Operations Facilities Manager.
Key Job Responsibilities Safety
- Follow and maintain the highest safety standards and diligently encourage a world‑class safety culture.
- As a facility owner team member, ensure remediation of safety risks/issues in conjunction with other teams.
- Own safety initiatives and projects to foster a strong safety culture.
- Lead by example in implementing and maintaining AWS safety protocols.
- Respond to emergency situations and coordinate with emergency services as needed.
Engineering & Facility Operations and Maintenance
- Operational hands‑on experience and deep knowledge with electrical, mechanical, fire protection and control systems, including UPS’s, Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS’s), Diesel Generators, Chillers, HVAC, Water treatment systems, Static Transfer Switch (STS), Exhaust Fans, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD’s), Fire Systems and Transformers.
- Operate, monitor, and maintain fire detection and suppression systems including pre‑action systems, VESDA and other fire protection equipment.
